Makes sense, there's no point pouring all your money into overpayments then finding you needed it for repairs etc. We save for car repairs because otherwise if it went wrong, we have no fall back, it can't just go on another card.

Also, if we do get to be in the position where we can move to our dream house, our current one will fail energy efficiency thingies because of the windows etc, so we would either HAVE to spend the money on getting them done before we sell, or we would have to drop the selling price accordingly.

So, we may as well try and get them done sooner rather than later, and at least WE get the benefit of them while we are here.

Jobs that need doing are:
• new windows and front door
• finish boarding loft and upgrade insulation
• update cloakroom and en-suite (not entirely necessary but would probably add more to the value than it costs to do)
• re-gravel driveway
• re-plaster lounge and re-paint when done
So far, we have replaced the kitchen and carpets throughout and had a new boiler fitted, so we have made a reasonable start....

Looking at that list, I need to get a few more clients booked in

I'm slightly nervous about that for when mum & I are on TV but seem incapable of not eating !!!!!! Got the coffee ready? I feel we should all be sipping cava in your tv appearance honour!

I looked even more tired than I thought I would!!!

Oh well, I still looked thinner than Vanessa Feltz, so can't complain really.

Did my house look tidy

Oh, what benben said is true - you did, hypno, you looked a lot thinner than you describe yourself - normally slim, I'd have said! A little bit tired, maybe, but you do such a lot, sweetie, you looked fine. Your house looked really comfortable - looking at the swags at the back, I was "seeing" nice thick carpets, and it looked warm, don't ask me why.
