Morning all - have just made huge vat of leek and potato soup as we dug up all the lekks from the veg garden yesterday. DH, DS & DD have gone to Birmingham to Outdoor Show and I have a list to get through - that will stop at 10 to see Hypno though !! Its raining here so no point going outside.

Makes sense, there's no point pouring all your money into overpayments then finding you needed it for repairs etc. We save for car repairs because otherwise if it went wrong, we have no fall back, it can't just go on another card.No longer using this account for new posts from 20130

Also, if we do get to be in the position where we can move to our dream house, our current one will fail energy efficiency thingies because of the windows etc, so we would either HAVE to spend the money on getting them done before we sell, or we would have to drop the selling price accordingly.
So, we may as well try and get them done sooner rather than later, and at least WE get the benefit of them while we are here.
Jobs that need doing are:- new windows and front door
- finish boarding loft and upgrade insulation
- update cloakroom and en-suite (not entirely necessary but would probably add more to the value than it costs to do)
- re-gravel driveway
- re-plaster lounge and re-paint when done
Looking at that list, I need to get a few more clients booked in :rolleyes:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Don't take this the wrong way ..... I thought you looked much thinner and younger than I imagined
Thats meant to be a compliment but hope it doesn't sound rude

Oh, what benben said is true - you did, hypno, you looked a lot thinner than you describe yourself - normally slim, I'd have said! A little bit tired, maybe, but you do such a lot, sweetie, you looked fine. Your house looked really comfortable - looking at the swags at the back, I was "seeing" nice thick carpets, and it looked warm, don't ask me why.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
