Just found this on youtube.......it is our ski club, and it will give you an idea of the mad things that my children do - both children competed here and DS came 4th on that day.

The hypno clan can be seen in their entirety somewhere on the video but I won't tell you where we are!!! (and no, I am not doing backflips on the slope!!).

    Your kids do that????!

Wow, that's some pretty impressive stuff! But I'm now starting to have doubts as to whether or not skiing is the right thing to try and get the little ones into. Are you SURE nobody was injured?:D

Can't believe you've been shelved for football - that's awful! If anyone does start that petition please let me know! (I'd do it myself, but following the sig fiasco I don't think I'm in :money: 's best books at the moment!)

Haven't read all your posts, but sorry to hear you've now been barred from bingo - welcome to the former-bingo-holics club! I can't wait to move now, just so I can try again with a different address!

I *knew* there was a reason you wanted to move so quickly, Pandapaws.

It is nothing to do with saving money/petrol/having a baby...........

Just got home from the bar job......feet are protesting again!

Did sell a pair of old skis, so £45 in the kitty, and the children both came first in a race (1st boy, and 1st girl) out of about 140 and each got £10 from an anonymous sponsor as a result.

So, all in all, a good day!

Hope you have all had a good one. dinner is cooking, then I am not moving too far from this sofa for the rest of the evening!

Hypno, I hope you don't mind me asking and I hope it doesn't come across as rude cos its not meant that way at all, but .... how on earth did you end up in debt?? You're the hardest working, most motivated person I've ever "met" !!! You can manage to find money practically every day somehow and you work ridiculously hard to make more !!! :D:D

We bought a house in 1999 with a 95% mortgage, after having a full structural survey, then found out 3 weeks later (literally) that it was falling down (again, literally). Obviously the value plummetted instantly, but we needed to rebuild.

Because we were then in serious negative equity then, we couldn't borrow the money on the mortgage to rebuild so we had to borrow it on credit cards and loans!!

We tried to sue the surveyor, but small print won the day.

OH had a breakdown because of it so couldn't work for 6 months, so no salary coming in from him although thankfully he recovered and returned to work reasonably quickly.

All our income went on paying the minimum payments for the cards, so paying for the weekly shop also had to go on the credit cards, robbing peter to pay paul etc.

Anyway, we did the work, ended up with a lovely house, but hated it so much because of the stress it had caused, we sold it.

We didn't cover the debt with the sale so we brought it with us........and 8 years later are still paying it, and will continue to do so for the next few years.

We couldn't go bankrupt because my career as a stockbroker would have been instantly over, and I still wouldn't go bankrupt just in case I go back to broking at any point in the future - I just can't run that risk.

Hope you are enjoying your tea and having a well deserved rest..it's amazing the situations that put us in debt though...but we can all be proud that we are paying them back as well....I also admire the way that you manage to raise extra income.

When I have got rid of the debt, I can move house again - to somewhere that is our "forever" house. That is a huge motivation - I have always said (even before the house from hell) that we would move into our dream house by the time I am 40. I am 37 now, so being debt free by 40 is probably not completely realistic.....but 41 is def an option :D
