It is taking me seemingly forever to get through the book, but it is making me think a lot about what I want, and why I am as disorganised as I am. To me it makes sense, but I fully appreciate that it is not going to work for everyone.

NO! Don't say that, it must work! Don't give me any excuses for it not working before I even start! :rotfl:

Think I may need a leaf out of that book, been a while since I found organisation amongst the clutter and overcrowding here. When BF got back with me over xmas, he said one of the things that had attracted me to him, was my organisational skills, my optimism and my style!! Gulp its all gone!! Surprised he has ventured back at all!! May treat myself to a copy of the book as I am at home nearly all the time now.
Re the Sun holidays, I shall start to buy the papers on the 5th even though I had always sworn I would never have a copy of that paper in my home. :o (perhaps for the sake of holidays I can break that one?)

The books that have got me through the hard times over the last 27 years were Down with Superwoman, by Shirley Conran, (its now so tatty it doesnt have a cover, but is used regularly still) and on the kitchen front The Benefit Book, how to feed your family on £4 a day by Bernadine Lawrence, and one that really is ancient, and has no spine now, infact its just brown loose pages, but I use its recipes most weeks, and that is called
More for your Money, Shirely Goode & Erica Griffiths. All about 1981 when I first got married. Without those three books I dont think I would be around today!!
Infact I used that last one for the BBQ sauce, the Bread sauce, and the sage and onion stuffing I made for DD 1 meal yesterday.

To update on the housing front, the council will send me out another application to reapply to be rehoused. No record of the request via social. Obviously got caught up in the christmas stuff.????

Congratulations on the job front Hypno. :T

Happy New Year Hypno and everyone, not been on for a few days due to cold, so at least not out spending!! Duchy, i just LOVE your idea of your mse flight to US, i have never heard of that...brilliant idea...why don't you take library books instead of charity books, save a few more pennies too!

Thanks but I can't take any credit for it-there's a whole forum of "mileage runners" out there-especially in the US. This last week had many people flying back to back flights (sometimes transatlantic-sometimes within the US) all trying to get their last few miles in before the closing date for status and miles at the end of the year as miles count January to December for status-giving nice little perks like first class upgrades and double miles.
    The forum is www.flyertalk.com
As for the books-they have to be charity shop ones as I make a point of leaving them at an airport lounge or somesuch for the next traveller -as on the rare times I've been stuck without a book and not wanted to pay airport prices for one I've always appreciated those that do the same :)

It's a 'go where you're told' unfortunately. You get to choose 5 dates and 5 parks, and they allocate whatever is available. If you've done it before, you get to confirm your booking online so you get to choose subject to availability, otherwise it's pot-luck!
Maybe we should ask for the Norfolk Broads then ;)

Morning all. It feels a bit nippy!

Today the car is going back to the garage for further investigation. Fingers crossed they can find out what is wrong without it costing too much.

OH is taking the car in, and I will be doing housework to keep warm and making a start on that bloomin' essay, fuelled by lots of coffee :o

I hope you have a good day, everyone!
