The ironic thing on the most recent time it happened to me was that the two preceding posts I made were reporting SPAM/Trolling!

What kind of forum places a restriction on their users reporting spam, illegal, offensive or libellous posts/messages, especially when they have a policy of no active moderation themselves?
Seems to be inviting troublemakers imho.

Does that mean that even just clicking the spam button counts as a post against your time limit?1

Still happening and still nothing from MSE.
If a company treated its customers like this who do you think would be first to shout at them?

If Twitter brought in such a rule, how long before Martin Lewis and others started kicking up a right stink?4

They do seem to have changed the conditions of this slightly. Now you mustn't post more than twice in two minutes and if you do you get banned from posting for 5 minutes. Somewhat better but still not good.
Why not just put restrictions on new posters instead of penalising long term members.4 -

PLEASE STOP TORTURING REGULAR POSTERS
4 weeks now and no progress or acknowledgement.lizd31 said:I've just got the same thing now & I'm blocked because I posted 3 of the Your Cat July comps in 4 minutes. The same thing happened last month. I struggle sitting for long at my computer which is why I don't post much or do the daily thread anymore so it's really hard for me. I wanted to post all of them quickly & then go & rest but I can't, I have to come back in 10 minutes & post 2 more then wait a few more minutes & do some more. It's ridiculous.0 -

I did email though.
So, perhaps if you email. they can exempt you from this measure.0 -
Time limit can be bypassed. Mad that a spammer can post and post many times whilst you keep reporting.
New account gets marked as spam posts should be hidden instantly and not allowed to post anymore. Then it gets
reviewed and if a member keeps marking non spam items as spam then prevent them by using the button?
Spammers know the office hours why is there nobody online when the spammers hit? I used to report them a lot
but it became a fruitless exercise. Seem to remember clicking spam for one user over 40 times and they were
still posting more.
