Three weeks for them to send paper form asking for same details provided online, allegedly as source bank required a signature.  Another three weeks since and now the account details have disappeared from NS&I online completely!   One hour queue to speak to them on phone.  So not going well.  Seems like they've been overwhelmed by demand.

Hmm, NS&I Twitter help states that you can't add to JISA until transfer completes and yes, weirdly it disappears from online dashboard whilst transfer in progress.  So stuck in limbo for six weeks and counting.

I applied for transfer of JISA on 24th April. It’s finally transferred this week.

I’m in same boat, applied in April and only just completed a couple of days ago. Probably the slowest transfer of isa I’ve ever had!! What’s frustrating is that the account disappears from your online account after it’s been opened until the transfer!
  • Whoop. Exactly 2 months since applying my account is now open!

Just searching up as i am in the same boat as everybody posted here.
I applied on the 11th May....completed the application online and managed to log in electronically. After 2 weeks the account details disappeared online....spoke to the online chat who said this was normal!....I eventually received the form through the post that i had to sign and return to enable the transfer from my exiting JISA holder....then received a letter dated 18th June saying the transfer would take 15 days from the date of the letter, so was expecting the account to reappear online late last week
Just logged in and the account is still not showing .....so hopefully will be within the next week or 2 looking at others responses here........very frustrating that its taken so long
  • I am having exactly the same experience trying to transfer JISAs from Coventry BS.  I've now had a letter to say one account balance has transferred over, but nothing showing on NS&I yet.  Maybe it'll be up and running by the end of the month.  Glad it is not just me!

Yep transferring 3 CTF from Nationwide to NS&I JISA's. The 2 I did towards the end of April were completed towards the end of June, also with the form to and fro-ing! Waiting on another I applied a bit later to move, letter from Nationwide arrived last week to say funds have been sent and CTF is now closed but it hasnt appeared on NS&I yet....should be there within the week given previous experience. And yes the accounts can disappear for a bit while its moving over/being set up.
    Cheers, Stu

Some considerable time ago long before the Corvid 19 lockdown began I decided to move my sons 11 year old JISA from Santander to NS&I. I wanted to do this as Santander had notified customers that they were reducing the interest rate on JISAs. I applied to NS&I for an account for my son providing information for them to request the transfer of funds from Santander. After several weeks I received a letter from NS&I informing me that I had been allocated an NS&I identification number. A further week on and I received a further letter with a form to complete authorising the release of funds from Santander. I completed this promptly and returned it. 3 weeks later I received a letter from Santander informing me that they had transferred the funds in my sons JISA to NS&I on 15th June. Nearly 4 weeks on and still NS&I have not activated my sons JISA. I managed on one occasion 2 weeks ago,  after 45 minutes,  to get through on the telephone to speak to an advisor who could only tell me that they were working about 2 weeks behind in processing deposits due to Corvid 19. I was also told that deposits of this kind were made by cheque and once deposited the cheque would need to clear. We are now nearly 2 more weeks further on and still no sign of my sons money. Whilst I have been reassured that NS&I will pay interest from the day I applied for the account I feel I am still disadvantaged as I cannot yet deposit other funds into my sons JISA until his new account is activated and therefore there is no interest accumulating on this money. Neither can NS&I tell me whether the cheque from Santander has been received safely thereby alleviating my anxieties. I have now lodged a formal complaint which I have just been informed may take longer than the normal time to investigate (currently this is 8 weeks). And so it goes on..............

............its 2 weeks on and nearly six weeks since Santander transferred the money in my sons JISA  to NS&I and still no progress with the new account. As for my formal complaint which I was advised by NS&I to lodge - after the initial acknowledgement 2 weeks ago it has gone completely silent. Where to next? MSE should review their opinion of this company.

Nine weeks and one transfer completed.
Ten weeks and another which actually left Santander early still no sign off it.
Might as well renew my driving license and apply for a passport given how well all these Govt departments are coping with demand for their services !
