Holding my hands up and saying Sorry. It's so easy to misinterpret the written word, and I'm glad it's not all one sided.Hope things go well with your re opening and OH can start to chill out a bit and that things settle more for you. XXI Believe.....

oh please don't apologise its really nice you were all looking out for me.
Sorry this is going to be more of a rambling post than normal, as I'm having lots of thoughts going on in my head about the future and planning and I need to write them down and do things with them! So I've got future goals (2 years time) and daily goals at present.
I really want us to be able to buy a house in the next 2 years, we're thinking of buying the house we rent as the landlord said he would sell it to us we just need to tell him when. Currently we're trying to pay back the money we borrowed to pay off our credit cards. By my calculations we can do that in 2 years time. The annoying thing is that were paying an extortionate amount in rent, which is money disappearing down the drain. It's a really hard position to be in when we want to buy this house. But we don't have enough for a deposit at the moment and we really need to up our incomes a little to make the mortgage work. Also need to up my credit rating. Just been looking at mortgages, and we'd be lucky if we got a mortgage for the amount we need on our earnings! Argh! going to have to look at bit further into this.
Basically we need to carry on doing what we're doing. I've had a massive reset during lockdown, it was Isitdoable on her diary that said she felt that way too. My money has definitely had a reset. Now I don't buy things unless I can sell for the same amount on eBay something else. Or I know I can make the money back some way.
So financially things I need to do or keep doing, surveys, I'd like to get 100 swagbucks points a day and £1 on prolific, both easy enough to do, I just need to check often enough. Continue shopping online as this has really helped to keep the food spend down. Keep buying clothes on Ebay when they are needed, but counteract these spends with selling things. Try and get an extra £25 a week or maybe even £50 by doing extra work. Will keep thinking.2 -
Going to give too good to go a try next week and see what I can get, does anyone know much about it? Also people have mentioned Lidl fruit and veg boxes? What are they? I wonder if mine does it? Hmmmm....
just looked and found this:

I’ve had a l1dl veg box before. Bit of a lucky dip but good value. May have to check in your local store for when they are out as I think at ours it’s first thing and when they are gone they are gone. Also look at the top good to go app. Again a bit hit and miss and you have to learn what time to look but they do lucky dip bags/boxes from retailers for set prices. We got one with loads in for £3.09. Some did go in the freezer as it was short dated.

I too read that your OH wasn’t helping much, glad you clarified. I guess it’s just tough when you are both working so much and hopefully things will get better once the kids are back at school re time to get stuff done.
You do really well with eBay etc. Good for you clarifying your short and medium term goals. I think having a clear goal makes it all much more motivating. Every time you want to spend picture that future moment in your head when your house is yours and you don’t have to pay your extortionate rent every month. You got this!

I managed to get one of the Lidl £1.50 boxes this week for the first time. It seems to be that they are put out early but they are past the tills on the packing shelf so you need to look there first before you do your shopping to see if you can get one. We got to Lidl just after 9am and there were 2 boxes on the shelf. One was all fruit but I got the other one which was probably about 70% fruit, 30% veg - I'd of rather it was the other way round but for £1.50 who's complaining, not me!
They are certainly good value so worth looking out for. It's worth asking the cashier if there aren't any there about what time they put them out but when my DD got one she said it was early as well.

Thanks guys, I will def have a look on Tuesday at the £1.50 boxes as I’m working super early. Also morissons do the £3.09 boxes, It’s a 15 minute drive though. does anyone know what sort of things they have in them? Just wondering whether it’s worth the drive....1

Not sure about the Morrison’s ones but the one I had (from a much smaller local supermarket) was from memory:
about 6 half baguettes
2 chicken breasts in Cajun sauce
scotch egg
Pack of sausage rolls
2 x cheese bakes
a cake of some sort
a pot of yogurt/cream
A block of cheese
and a few other items (was pre lockdown) worked out it was worth about £12. You obviously have to book these ones though so you know your not going to have a wasted journey to travel1 -
Thank you! Do you have to book, to use ‘too good to go?’ As every time I go on the ap It always says sold out by 18.16..... 🤷🏻♀️1
