I don't see what grounds I have to appeal though and don't want to risk several hundred pounds in fees.

How about signage, contract, timeliness, abuse of process,
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

WHat "hundreds of pounds"? What fees are you making up out of thin air? Have you read ANY threads on ACTUAL court claims yet? If not, WHY NOT!

You really need to do some research, this is a scam.  Do you normally pay scammers?

Luckily no-one risks hundeds of pounds in fees...where on earth are you getting that from?

There is NO RISK.  Why do you think everypne here defends a claim if they get one?  Because there is ZERO RISK.

I read about the potential for court fees in one of the threads on here, can't find now, so much information, I know it's all helpful but sometimes hard to see the wood for trees.
Right I'll appeal to ECP ...
My NTK has "PAYMENT TO BE MADE WITHIN 28 DAYS OF THE DATE ISSUED: by dd/06/2020", two questions,
    (a) is it worth contacting them sooner to ask to cancel the notice, perhaps with proof of purchase ?
    (b) submit appeal online a day or two before above deadline (this month)

Yes, but not HUNDREDS. Youre making stuff up, and scaring yourself as a result. STOP IT :)
No, just send the template appeal, while you find out the landowner and see if they will cancel. as the newbies thread tells you .

Court filing fee, £25.  Hearing fee £25.  If you lose.

And that's if it gets to court...and ECP are not known for that!  Nothing to worry about.

What happened when you tried PLAN A from the top post of the NEWBIES thread?

Thanks for your help, I got a response from Facebook messenger and from CEO rep., both saying the same thing that they are not the landowners so can't do anything, saying to conatct ECP - think I'll pay as although I did shop there, I was parked for a long time.
"Regrettably, as we are not the landowners of this site and did not instruct Euro Car Parks to manage this car park, we are unable to directly assist with your appeal" etc.
I'll see if I can contact: Completelyindustrial .co.uk/portfolio/M&G/scheme/Cannon-Lane-Retail-Park-Tonbridge

Yes, always keep complaining to who you think instructed ECP, and if they say they didn't ask who did!
