This is a good price for an import pack from a domestic etailer.

If you want to save a few pounds more (without resorting to ebay) the trusted import sites of liksang and playasia.com will deliver you a value pack with a game for a total of around £200 when delivery, import duty and courier fees have been paid.

I've used both sites in the past (my PSP came from playasia back in January) and can recommend them.

i agree liksang is good but thought i had read that a few people were getting stung on the import tax? Or have they changed things now?

Depends what you mean by 'stung'. Import tax is payable on this hardware, so when you add this to the delivery charge and the courier handling fee, you get to around £200.

If you're refering to the practice of incorrectly declaring the product value to save on import tax, liksang does not, as far as i know, do this. Bear in mind your package is only insured for the declared value - If your PSP arrives smashed and the package states it's worth $10, that's all you'll be getting back!

Get it from ebay guys. I got mine for £125 - japanese version psp standard. then i bought a game from liksang for £25. Had to buy memory card separate though. Search for a guy called "jpitem" on ebay that's who i bought it from.

advantage of jap psp over us psp.

- all psp are region free for games but not for movies.
- US psp are R1 and Jap and UK will be R2. So UK movies will work on the jap psp when they come out here

MovieTyme are the cheapest i've seen, £199.99 Including Delivery, and Ridge Racers - Already in the UK (No taxes/duty), and next day delivery if ordered by 2pm. (Thats for first class - Special Delivery is only £3.70 for this item anyway)

They are also the cheapest i've seen for games in the UK too.

I think this is my first post, I'm not affiliated with MovieTyme, I been registered here for years i think, i visit daily just never contribute, now thats changing!

Not linked to this site in any way, but I have just bought my PSP from there, today. They have emailed me three time about what i want and answering my questions. So far I can recommend this store.

just a few comments that may help people out...

the MovieTyme price is a good one, but beware that they seem to be selling US version PSPs.

This means that they're UMD encoded region1 (works like DVDs), so when UMD movies come out in the UK they'll be region 2 and not playable on this machine.
UMD games should be fine as they're not region dependant.

If you buy a Japanese PSP, then this is region 2.

On this basis, the IValeo option seems better, as they're Japanese versions (PSP-1000k) - just make sure that they come with English menus.
Japanese versions normally come with a Japanese manual, but you can download English manuals.

Alternatively, try https://www.electricbirdland.co.uk, they bundle a few extras, cables etc in the price - last time I looked they were £175 inc delivery (Shipped from UK) for the Japanese Value Pack.

Did anyone see The Times on Saturday. Apparently Sony has issued letters warning commercial importers of PSPs that they are infringing Sony's rights and to stop immediately. Electric Birdland have said they will not stop and will see Sony in court . . .hmmmm.

We may see a steady decline of availability.
