Haha, haven't done any Gapburger for a while... doing one next weekend. Was gonna be in town shopping, so figured free lunch. Actually havnig Gapchicken for dinner on Sunday too as I decided not to be bothered to cook. It IS so funny watching staff completely change behavior though (even funnier in a DIY store, as I mentioned some pages back... shop was eventually reshopped with different scenario). Off to DIY again tomorrow.

I know shop/restaurant names are not allowed to be mentioned so I'll be vague (but hopefully not too vague and no-one understands me!). I'd love to find a company that does mystery shopping for a chain of Italian-American restaurants, I've signed up with Gap, RE and BAIR up to now but they dont do them, does anyone know who does? I'm also looking for a different pizza company (another chain) if anyone knows who does that too?
    TIA :)

Hi all. I'm new to mystery shopping. Currently with GAP, RE and Grassroots. I did my first assignment for GAP yesterday and I have one tomorrow. Any advice on how good these companies are or any companies I should be with.

I started off with GAP jobs then started with RE and moved onto working with other companies too. The brilliant list on P1 covers all the main companies, but I think GAP is a good place to start when you're getting started.

As for my opinion on these companies....

GAP - Poor fees but easy paperwork. Good when they phone and you can
haggle some more £££ out of them. Patchy communication.

RE - When things go right it's a smooth easy ride for a low(ish) fee (generally). Irritating paperwork at times (same question asked in 5 different ways). Technical problems with w/site add to the irritation. Am currently trying to get them to correct a fee for a job I did....it's like getting blood out of a stone, but I'm sure they'll get tired of my emails and sort it out.

GR - Only done a few for them, but nice scenarios, good fee, friendly and helpful on the phone. Paperwork required a fair bit of writing, but all simple stuff. Good jobs if you're quick enough!

Whoops! Just had my first assignment given to me by Assosia. And just realised that it's and hour later than I thought and I've missed the start time. I think there's a sacking coming.....

I think you can do the evening jobs on Sat or Sun too, so probably won't cause a problem. They emailed me half an hour ago about something so I think they'll probably get back to you soon :)

I think the Italian-American ones are on RE, but you've got to be really quick to get them - I've never seen them on there, only heard of others on here who have.

There is a more upmarket pizza restaurant on TNS.

They have given reciepts to me in drive thru, however in the shop itself, nah....

There has to be a better way of doing this, they have cctv and challenge timings of drive thru's so at the end of the day, why cant they use that?

I did one a few weeks ago, service was awful and the wait in the drive thru queue was ridiculous. Did the paperwork and next day had an email asking me to clarify some points including the timings, duly sent off an email with the required information. 3 days later I get a phone call saying the "restaurant" was disputing my timings and the person that handed over the order was adamant she had spoken to me when in fact she ignored me and spoke to a colleague! I kept getting asked if I was sure about the details and times, Gap person wasn't happy but tuff!

Did a job tonight in a chicken "restaurant" was even worse than the gapburger one above so expecting emails and calls regarding my report!

I did a job at a pharmacy for RE and was told in no uncertain terms by the pharmacist that this particular shop rip people off for the items i was asking about (hayfever meds) and that I should go to Tesco as it's much cheaper there!

I nearly laughed out loud in the shop! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Then I asked about the product they are supposed to mention and both said they knew nothing about that so probably not to bother with it!

I was expecting calls back about the report but it has been appoved and is sitting waiting for payday now!

I sympathise with you. I did some bingo jobs with GfK. Praised all except one. They did not have the required by law notice about responsible gambling on each toilet door and there were loads of people smoking at the entrance.

Result was manager said she checked CCTV and made out I was lying as there were NO smokers and there were notices on every toilet. So they have CCTV in the bogs. Aye right. And there were smokers cos I smoke and I joined the smokers for a wee puff before I went in.

What infuriates me is I have never again been given bingo jobs by GfK.

BUT why the heck would we lie about things like that. If your going to do a MS and say everything was super duper and it isn't then what is the point of MS at all then.
