Aaaargggh!! I have just joined GAP and got 1 job. Just now I clicked on 2 travel shop ones and selected a date from the drop down menu but got a red thing above saying you must select a date. I flaming have selected a date then clicked add to basket. But the message just comes back up. I have emailed them on their contact us box.

you have to make sure you've checked the box in the left hand column and selected the date before you add to basket.

sometimes its a bit temperamental. if its not letting u click the box, change the date back blank and try again. it works eventually!

Thanks everyone for the advice about GAP. They phoned me back tonight and said it was a software problem and they would fix it. I now have got an email saying I have been assigned the 2 jobs. It is travel agencies which I haven't done before so looking forward to it.

As for RE they are driving me nuts. Did the mobile shop today eventually and did the photo without getting arrested. But took me ages to do the report. It kept coming up with you have unanswered questions. Now one of them was "Was the exterior clean & tidy. I ticked the Yes box. But it came up as unansered as I had put no comment. So I just typed Yes the exterior was clean & tidy. Then was it a trainee?. Options Yes it was or No it wasn't. So I ticked the No it wasn't and they wanted a comment. WHY . What more can you comment to ticking a box saying No it wasn't a trainee.

I wouldn't report it. Only because they'll probably bar you from doing this store again, because they'll know who you are. Depends of course, whether you want to do it again and how honest you are, of course.

It's a bit like one of those moral dilemmas that Martin puts in his weekly email.

I have a friend who works in a mobile phone shop chain that many of us MS. He told me they are told they will be MS'ed in the near future. So they all get suspicious of everyone for a while trying to spot the MS'er. He says it is a dead give away when a shopper goes through a scenario of texts, minutes budget, asks for a demo then says I need to think about it. They then email round the other nearby shops in the chain giving a description and the scenario used.

But one time I had to do a burger job then present an award for good service where the member of staff then get a bonus. She was gobsmacked and said she didn't believe me as she can normally suss a MS a mile away by the way they look at their watch several times and glance all round the place clocking everything.

In our defence some of the scenarios we are given are a bit naff.

Hmm, any advice? I just did a MS for TNS for a DIY store, and am 99% convinced one of the assistants sussed I was doing a MS, as soon as I asked about my enquiry.
    ....
What should I do? In all my MS jobs, I've never been in this situation before.

I'm doing this shop this afternoon! Hope it goes better than yours - bit worried now!!!

Can anyone with TNS advise me on using the job search. I got accepted at the start of the week but have not found any jobs yet. When I click location there is no location for Glasgow so I went 1 by 1 round all the counties which surround Glasgow. What though do I put in the postcode box? I left it blank first then tried putting in G as there are dozens of Glasgow postcodes but it keeps coming up with nothing.

hi .... the best way to search would be by selecting lanarkshire from the drop down list and that contains glasgow jobs...happy msing :-)

I thought that too - maybe they're just doing the last bits for them.

After what I've read recently about shops knowing who the shoppers are, I won't be doing any more MSing for phone companies!

The last one I did was for DQM (for the shop they recently lost to GFK) and that was excruciating!
