Just received an email from them about the revealling Burger job I'm doing for them next week and it says, :-
- Please make sure that when you order a ******* meal it arrives down the shoot and isn't already on the shoot.
SHOOT?????? Do you think they mean CHUTE?I despair, I really do!
I had a report commented on some time back by Retail Eyes saying
"please remember to spell cheque your reports before pressing the submit button", they then deleted points from my score. I replied asking them, if my next report is error free, would I get the 2 points back as they used the wrong "cheque" and it should have been "check" and got a very polite reply back telling me that CHEQUE had been spelt correctly:eek: :rotfl:
"Dogs come when they are called. Cats take a message and get back to you" :j :j0 -
I have to order a medium, starter, salad and two drinks. They do a meal deal for a large, medium, starter, salad and two deserts. If I buy the drinks on top do you think this will be acceptable? The notes say you can eat with up to 4 people as long as you only assess the food on the criteria. All the food on the criteria will be purchased but just wanted to check before I do this.....
Obviously Gap haven't replied to my email of 3 days ago to ask this.
Many thanks happy shoppers.Keeper of 2 children, 2 dogs, 2 cats & thankful that you can only have 1 husband at a time.0 -
in-it-to-win-it, i would stick strictly to the rules with gap because they are the company most likely to take your results and not pay you and not tell you. So if they say order x,y,z, I personally wouldn't order anything else.0

I am an established mystery shopper who has successfully completed lots of mystery shops but almost exclusively for one company and who wishes to spread their wings a bit. I used to post on a previous version of this thread when it was on the DFW part of the forum. I thought I'd asked a simple question and I don't feel there's any need to be rude.
Thank you to Leila1, I'm not looking for full time work, I like the work I do for TNS and feel if I'm making the effort to go self employed to carry this on I should add some others too, perhaps I didn't explain what I wanted to know fully. I'll apply to a few other companies on the list and see what happens.
But it is nearly the same question again. I still don't think it's really a fair question to ask MSers who have served their apprenticeship, developed relationships with a wide range of companies and found out for themselves the best people to work with, to give this information away freely, and potentially do themselves out of work. What do others think? Am I being mean?
Yorkielass, please don't think this is personal to you - it's written as a general discusssion. I do understand that there are 'special circumstances' at this time, as MSers who work only for TNS will have to make the decision to go self-employed or give up. And the question coming from someone who has obviously read the thread and thought about things is very different from someone who simply expects to be handed the job on a plate.
Perhaps I should add that I do exchange PMs with some of the other long-term shoppers on this site, and we tell each other useful information. But I think the concept of an apprenticeship (with several different companies) and working for a range of different companies on the list is a good one.

I did one like this, and asked them the question by email. Their response was that we could order additional food, however I must ensure that the items I needed to order were on the receipt and that I only assess those items. So sorry, to me this remains unclear. It doesn't actually say you may only have those items on the receipt, so the only extra item to go onto my order was one orange juice and this didn't stop them form paying my fee. The problem is that if ordering the large pizza as well affects preparation time, they may not pay you.

Comments welcome!), but I do agree with Carolwat: If someone is going to take time and effort to write a reply then let be constructive and helpful to someone. These are real people asking for help. There are two choices: the person reading the question is either willing to give it or not. If they are not then that's Ok don't answer all together. The question will either get answered by someone else or remain unanswered. Either way no one gets hurt. I did feel sorry for someone in the past who got such an attack that she never returned, I hope she did not develop forumophobia!

We were all newbies once, weren't we?
And when we all started mystery shopping in our respective areas, presumably we were taking work from established mystery shoppers, weren't we?0 -
