I've had meal deals before with no problem and I've never even justified it. I think it says no vouchers but I can't remember anything about not taking a meal deal if offered. However I wouldn't 'go large' just stick to the medium pizza size and on no account be tempted to sneak in the pineapple!!!
I wanted to order a meal deal but I thought I'd better check with them first as there's no mention of it in their instructions. I got back this response:
    Dear Shopper,

    Thanks for your email.

You are not able to upgrade to a deal.

If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us,
via email, or via our freecall fax number listed below!
It just seems silly to me as the deal costs no more and effectively includes two free desserts. I might as well have a sign on my head saying 'I am a mystery shopper' when all the other diners are enjoying their meal deals:o At least I won't be eating all those extra calories from the desserts:rolleyes:
  • Hey everyone, thanks for all the great info so far!
Iv now been mystery shopping for a good couple of months and loving it! mainly doing phone shops and the odd food ones when they come up.
Been looking on Bare lately and done a few phone/retail ones but I was wondering if anyone has done any of the mystery flight ones? i.e Manchester to Copenhagen etc. I'd be really interested in doing them but with the initial expenditure I just wanted peoples views on if they had done any and what they thought of them?
Any responses would be greatly appreciated......oh also waitin on GAP payment too!:(

I did a flight from Leeds Bradford to Paris last year. I was paid quickly and got the full reimbursement. Go for it

I wonder if the problem is what type of deal. The ones I get offered and accept are just for what you are supposed to get on the brief - there are no other food aspects included. I think the problem is if your order includes other items it affects the timing issues.

Hi all - do TNS reimburse you for purchases or give you the whole reimbursement?

Just looking at a pub visit with a meal and they pay mileage and reimbursement but no fee....

    Thanks!
  • They just reimburse you for purchases, I'm afraid.

I have been known to take a container with me, order extra food, and take it away on pub visits ;)

One of their more stupid staff members had the cheek to tell me off on a coffee visit (also no fee, just a mileage allowance and a spend allowance) because I bought things to take away. I don't know how she thinks the world works - does she really think MSers are queuing up to work for a free coffee? I have continued to spend my whole allowance in the store, and take food away, and have always been paid.

And I am delighted to see that there are hundreds of the coffee shop visits left for next month - clearly MSers are NOT queuing up to be exploited.....:T

I can only see one of them!

That's what I doo too, with RE and the like. If I'm under the allowance I'll eat as much as possible :D - my girlfriend and I did a pub job recently and ended up being 1p under the reimbursement, after a brief discussion on whether to order a chocolate sundae we were very pleased having found we'd never have been paid for it anyway!

I don't think I could bring myself to take cooked food away though; I couldn't trust them not to be filming me! :o

It's the usual thing JM - MSing companies are getting the idea that we'll work for anything! Soon enough they'll be just contributing towards the cost....
  • And who would want to leave a nice cosy bed to get a coffee in the Central London at weekend anyway? See enough of it Monday to Friday, chose a local one or two...:rotfl:
  • has anyone ever done work for these people?

But what about your poor little doggy, waiting for its leftovers ?? ;) I personally don't have any hesitation to take leftovers with me ... after all - I paid for it. ;)

Yes, I have. Easy work, even easier reports, good pay. Oh, that's non-video. They mainly do video jobs though.
