Three contract renewel - Surely this can't be right

I've been looking at switching to the £8 12GB hidden deal you mention. I'm already with Three paying double the amount for the same allowances.
Out of interest - if you were with Three already did you have to request a PAC and transfer your number across in the same way you would if moving from another network?0 -
I suspect you're not asking me but in my case my contract was coming to one year so I did an online chat to ask for the deal I got - simply an amendment/renewal of my contract. You'd only request a PAC code if leaving for another network or (maybe?????) if you had obtained ANOTHER 3 SIM and wanted to transfer the number to that???Mr_Rondonk said:I've been looking at switching to the £8 12GB hidden deal you mention. Thanks Murmansk, should've read your previous post - I just contacted Three using the app chat function and they price matched the offer for me. I was incredibly surprised at how efficient it was given previous experience with their customer service. Took all of about 5 minutes.0

When you think that if you look at sites like YouSwitch and SIMSherpa you can see the kinds of deal you can get, then think that if you applied for a similar deal via a cashback site like Quidco you'd get maybe £20 or more cash back, you can see that they're clearly going to give you the deal if you ask because they'll get you hooked in for another year AND they don't have to pay that £20 or more so it's a no brainer for them - and us! The best situation for us is to apply via cashback site as a new customer I guess.Mr_Rondonk said:Thanks Murmansk, should've read your previous post - I just contacted Three using the app chat function and they price matched the offer for me. Hi All.
I’ve been with three since inception, and am looking to add wife and son to their network on different deals obtained by MSE. £8-12GB and £18- Unlimited both seem really good deals. I was just wandering, as has been touched on here, that as these are effectively MSE deals, does that give me more of a likelihood of continuing on a rolling contract on the same terms/price, or as it’s effectively a special deal is it every man for himself in having to negotiate with three at contract end?0 -
Usual is a contract min term ends then you are on 30 day rolling standard price no deals contract .

In my experience, the same price continued for several month after the initial 12 month period. Once I got the message it was increasing, or I'd seen a better deal, I made contact0

Well, I just joined three using their 12GB for £8 offer. My wife, whose contract has ended with them, tried to get that same deal and was told it is not available to her, and the best they could do was 8GB for £8 so on principle she has a PAC from them to go elsewhere. She had been paying nearly £14 per month for a 4GB dataplan! (we both slipped up and hadn't realized the contract ended a few months ago - slapped wrist for both of us)0
