Card fraud and contacting Barclaycard

I am trying to help my father get in touch with Barclaycard to cancel his card after he discovered fraudulent transactions on it this morning. He has been on hold to their helpline since 8am with no joy. I have tweeted them and tried their Facebook page, and my dad has tried a local branch but obviously they can’t help. We are concerned that we cannot get through to get his card stopped with a Bank Holiday weekend ahead of us.
Is there any way we can get the card stopped?

Can you do it online or through the app?0

You can cancel a debit card online but not the credit card. He can report transactions but there are apparently 4 pages of them. He’s doing that now, as still hasn’t been able to get through.0

You can report the card lost or stolen through teh app. and Barclays will block the card. I imagine you can do the same through logging into your account in a browser.0

Click “more” at the bottom of the app. Then click “cards” on the next page (top option). Then “report lost or stolen” (top option).0

Branch could have stopped his card and set up a callback from the fraud team...

Hi, he's been trying to contact that number all day. He just can't get through to speak to anyone. They have now filled in the fraud form and will post it off. The card is now suspended as it has reached its limit thanks to the fraudsters - he got an automated email from Barclaycard to let him know.0

Just to update: after several days attempting to get through, and me trying to get hold of someone on BC social media, Dad did manage to speak to someone. He has allegedly been sent a new card, which has not yet arrived. He has received his CC statement, which shows all the fraudulent transactions.
Dad has not heard anything back about the fraud, or even if it is being looked at. I want to help him, but as I cannot currently go to his house and sit at his PC with him, I am at a loss. It's been an incredibly stressful time for my parents trying to sort this out, and the fact that they cannot easily get to speak to someone is frustrating.
I do understand that it must be very difficult to deal with customer enquiries in such unusual circumstances, but I can't believe that there is genuinely no way for someone from BC to contact my Dad to discuss what is going on and put his mind at rest. Particularly as when he has tried to send secure messages, he has left contact details as well.
I also can't believe that none of the transactions were flagged up - the card is barely used, my Dad has 2 transactions on the statement, all the others are fraud. Several transactions in a day, and no alarm was raised.

try not to worry your dad will not be liable for any of the fraudulent transactions just wait for things to run their course.0
