Yes I've gone for that one too. I had real difficulty in first time logging on, required sorting out by phone.
Losing a week's interest on it therefore cuts it from 1.35 to 1.32% approx, on £5k with the £25 added takes it the equivalent of 1.82%

The previous offer 6 months ago, which my OH applied for, similarly had a few days delay before starting the interest to your selected product. I would have applied for the 1.1% 6 month account this morning but it had been pulled early, so I decided to go for the 1 year 1.35% instead. Does one still earn interest in one`s current account while the £5000 debit card transaction is pending? Because they might pull the 1.35% offer before the closing date for applications it isn`t worth delaying it for the sake of gaining a small amount of interest.

Well the payment into the HL AS account was done instantly from my bank (Santander) so I won't be earning anything on that until Close Brothers get it on 3 June
I doubt your 'pending' will be pending for too long!

Still showing as "pending" on our santander current account. What I was interested to know is do you get the daily interest paid on the "quoted" balance or the "available" balance (I know it`s only about 15p a day). I seem to remember about 2 days "pending" following a debit card payment is normal. Yes, the payment was showing as "instant" at the HLAS end but they do not feed it into Close Brothers until 3rd June.

    You will get interest
    1. from the day your deposit hits the Close Brothers account
    2. until the day it leaves your Santander, assuming it's a full-fat 123

I haven't deposited into a fixed term account for a while and can't remember exactly how long that took. It seems extraordinarily slow if they only move your deposit on June 3.

Was similar waiting time when we did it depending on when expiry date of chosen offer was as H.L Active I assume move all funds from those who choose a certain offer to provider on same date

Just seen that the Close Brothers 1y 1.35% fixed deposit has gone, next best 1y is Metro Bank @ 1.20%

I was correct in thinking they might pull the Close Brothers 1 year 1.35% rate before the closing date for applications. My debit card payment initated on Tuesday was deducted today from my current account balance - it took 2 days -  the £5000 will have been earning interest during this period.

Thanks TD14 …. Do you think a new applicant will have to wait for anything in the post before you can go online and manage the account or allocate funds to one of the "product" accounts? If so, it might be cutting it fine the get one of the 1 year 1.35% accounts.
If you already have any account with HL, starting and using the Active Savings one is instant. They advertise that setting up with HL just takes 10 minutes.

EDIT: turns out that, on Bobblehat's experience, this is another HL Marketing promise, and it takes a lot longer as you need to have a PIN sent in the snail mail.
Responding to an oldish post here, but I never had a PIN sent by snail mail . (This is existing users) .  That must be for new signups.
What they don't tell you, or perhaps is hidden somewhere in the process, is that all future logins gain an extra step, you have to enter a code sent via text. And, your account gets a non adjustable 5 minute inactivity timeout imposed
