Or £500 three times.
Or £300 five times.

Some credit card accounts can be paid by debit card from a different bank
Some lump sum savings and investments, including pension contributions
Even just contactless payments for modest shopping amounts can gradually add up0 -
A lot of people getting upset over £60 😂I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

Interestingly you can pay your Halifax CC with a Halifax Reward DC... if you really wanted to test their tolerance1

Why don't you just pay in whatever more you need to reach £1,500/month going through the account? It doesn't have to be in a single sum from your salary.
You've missed the May deadline for phoning the automated service to tell them you want to upgrade but you could request this later if you think a "reward" was something you wanted and you could meet the other requirements to achieve it. As long as you had £1500 going through the account each month (to avoid the charge) you don't have to meet the other requirements (eg the £500 DC spend) every month but any month that you did you would receive the reward.0 -

I blame the paucity of regular savings accounts right now. I used to play that game a bit myself when it could be combined with bank switching bonuses, because it did actually give a decent return for the effort involved (plus I had more time on my hands).
But the one upmanship and sniping I'm seeing with people scratching around for what seems like relative pennies now, you have to wonder what the motivation really is...
But then again, there are people that will spend 15 minutes doing an online survey to get 25 Avios. Nowt as queer, etc.0 -

Not "putting folk down" as you say, just genuinely curious as to what the motivation here is. And as I've said, I've played similar games (oops sorry, I mean that I have "participated in offers") in the past. But there comes a point where you have to question whether the effort expended on an offer is greater than what you realise from it. Rather like that old wives tale of celery being the ultimate diet food because you use more calories chewing it that it contains in the first place.
So perhaps there's something I'm missing. Or perhaps it's a form of one upmanship on this forum to say that you grabbed every offer going. Or perhaps it's a hobby, or form of occupational therapy, or whatever to while away the time. Live and let live as far as I'm concerned, but please don't slate me for asking the question...0 -
My work here is done.
