So I've now been offered 3 choices for my lastminute.com refund.
Credit note for the full amount £2600 + £200 gift card, valid for 12 months, ABTA protected and if I've not used it by 01/01/21 I can ask for a cash settlement of the £2600
Voucher for £2600 valid for 12 months, not sure of the advantage of this
Cash refund £2600, but I'll need to wait for the providers to refund and how they refund.
I'd like to go for option 3, but who knows how long I might have to wait for that, so am think about the credit note, it's ABTA projected until 31/01/21.
Anyone any thoughts.
Cheers

If you bought a package holiday then legally you should be cash refunded in 14 days
New User name as MSE gave me a number in my old one.

My email from lastminute says:
ABTA Protected: Your Refund Credit Note will be protected by ABTA until 31/01/2021, so your refund will remain 100% protected (ABTA number Y6407).

The ATOL / ABTA are backed by the Government /CAA they are the ones that refund you.
Neither Government / CAA have confirmed that CRN are protected.
ABTA represent their members (the travel agents) so would you trust their advice to be impartial?

If I knew everything that was to know about travel/refunds etc. then I wouldn't have posted in the first place. Hence my request for opinions and thoughts.0 -
Well I've selected the cash refund, let's see if I ever see any of my money.0

Did you book a Flight+Hotel package? If so, are they just offering to refund the flight element or all of it?0

I am only asking as I have to decide whether to pay a large balance to them in the next couple of months and have been concerned about their contactability and performance highlighted on here and other outlets.0 -
