Mercedes not taking my safety concerns seriously
I purchased a new Mercedes A class in March 2019 all going well until January 2020! I've had nothing but issues this year, the engine keeps cutting out nearly causing me to crash several times yet the dealership keep telling me that it's safe to drive and not taking my concerns seriously. They will take my car in for weeks on end and keep telling me that they've done an update and all is well, yet the same happens again. I want to reject the car yet they keep telling me I can't. Where do I stand? I feel so unsafe ever time I get into the car.

More information needed. When is it cutting out? What speed or revs? In which gear? On the flat or on an incline? What lights come up on the display beforehand?0

Cuts out random time when I'm on the motorway doing 60 mph, another time doing 25 mph. Another doing 40 all different speeds. It's an automatic so it's In different gears. But it happens in any of the gears. Happened once while I was at a t junction pulling off. Another time at red light. Sometimes no lights come on sometimes all the lights come on when like you first start then engine all them lights come on. No warning lights after come on or anything. When it's in for a service they can't find anything and say they did and software update and still the same problem this has happened more than 5 times now0

I'm trying to get them to let me reject it but they keep saying it's just an update and saying its fine to drive after the update is applied they not listening how can I make them listen that I don't want it no more as its not fit for purpose0

My Mercedes conked out twice, the dashboard lights all came on. Lost all power including the power steering. The Mercedes dealership initially told me that the code indicated it needed a software update. They did that and it conked out again on the way home!
It turned out to be the crankshaft position sensor. I gave them a rocket, I was furious. They sent me home in a dangerous car. That was nine months or so ago and all fine since.
No idea if your problem is the same but you must tell them not to send you out in a car in a dangerous condition, it will do their much prized reputation no end of harm.0 -
The only thing I been told to do for the time being as apparently their is a update but it hasn't been made yet in Germany and still waiting for this to be released. I have to turn off my start stop engine button apparently that stops it from doing it but it happened yesterday and I was near the dealer ship and took it their and they had it for a day and the data came back as no result and have to keep doing what I'm doing turn off the engine start stop button but that doesn't work and still sent me out with that car and I don't feel safe they won't put me in a cover car or anything as its a technical fault. What can I do to make them listen or what to say that can help me out0

Stand your ground, look at what I suggested you say in my previous post. Do not deal with anyone except the main service manager, not one of the usual service people.0

Ps, ask them to look at the crankshaft position sensor.0
