Thanks for the information, briclegg.  My MOT was due on 29 May and today has been extended until 29 November so you are right - they extend 7 days before it's due to expire.

I am glad because I only use my car a lot during summer. So with a November MOT once it's passed it should be fine for another year. If it's the end I can do without it for a few months before I get a new one. Only problem is it's a bit cold for doing repairs outside.

As a data point, my MOT due date was 23 June. Checked on the evening of 16 June and it was still showing as 23 June. Checked this morning (17 June) and it has been extended to 23 December.

That's useful, thank you. I have a couple due next month and will try and remember to update this thread.
