    Most of my new furniture is coming from fb marketplace/friends however I have bought my daughter a new bed and mattress from my savings. Been thinking about how to get it to the right place- but have found a great solution. Work friend is at the house all day tomorrow as she has workmen coming throughout the day to do bits of painting, something with the bathroom and hanging new doors. She suggested that I get them delivered to the House and she'll put it in the utility room and then once new neighbour has moved most of her stuff over across the weekend or early next week I can go round and just carry them round the corner into the cottage. (New neighbour also is fine with this- have checked)

    Massive improvement from my idea which had been getting it delivered to work (but then I'd be 6 miles away from the cottage and may not fit in my car depending on packaging.

    I've also ordered three of these;

    MOSSLANDA Picture ledge, white stained pine effect, 55 cm - IKEA and I'm going to make cat shelves up in the hall landing to give the cats extra space to play and explore in- hopefully will stop the younger one from getting stressed about being cooped up in a smaller space as she really likes climbing.

    This is the bed I've ordered for my daughter KURA white, pine, Reversible bed, 90x200 cm - IKEA I'm going to have it as the loft bed set up- with bean bags, throws and fairy lights to make a reading area/chill out space for her underneath. It's just going to maximise the amount of space she has to play and relax in.
    Those ledges look like a great idea for the cats! Make sure they go in a solid wall with decent rawl plugs (I like Fischer plugs).

    The cottage is 240 years old- they're all solid walls! :smiley: But yes I've got rawl plugs in my household drawer at home so I'll make sure they're fitted well.
    Bottom line;
    £49k paid off
    Car HP paid off
    Debt Free!
    Saved Escape fund and moved out.

    Current focus; saving Emergency fund

    Nice one! I just came from a Victorian house to a 60s modified build. Has meant learning that not all walls can hold anything like my old home  :D

    My daughter used to love her high bed I'm sure yours will too.  Not long until you can have a good life on your own with your daughter.
