So my daughter wants a Nintendo switch for her birthday. My sister in law got me onto the John Pye auction site and I've been bidding on there for the past few weeks. Today I picked up a brand new Switch for £95! Which was all budgeted in my child birthday savings/main account overspend.
11 weeks until her birthday and her main expensive present is saved for and fully paid for!
I'm going to look on fb marketplace and ebay for some cheap switch games but I'm going to wait until August payday to buy them. Most of them seem to be selling for £30 So Should be able to buy her 3 good games with my allocated £90 per month birthday saving pot budget
Then the September birthday saving pot can purely be my half of her birthday party costs.
Also in extra household costs on said same auction site I'm currently bidding £2 and winning on a lot of a 55" Tv! It is.missing a remote and is collection only from the Midlands which seems to be putting other bidders off but I could get a universal remote on eBay for £10 and my friend lives 20 mins away from the auction site so he could collect for me. A bigger TV would be excellent as our current one is tiny (small enough that I can't read subtitles from the sofa! Which means I can't watch some of my favourite foreign films)
If I did win the tv bid I'll take the £10 (My max bid) and fuel money for my friend out of my entertainment pot for the month.
Bottom line;
£49k paid off
Car HP paid off
Debt Free!
Saved Escape fund and moved out.

Wow that’s a good win on the Nintendo switch. And good luck on the tv. I’m off to have a look at this site now!1

Didn't win the TV (it went above my £10 max bid - sold at £32) but I don't want to set minimum spends and then push them so I let it go. My plan is to wait until my EF hits £500 and then save up £100 and buy a TV with that.
My last pair of jeans are starting to rip at the crotch but in good news it's my birthday in 3 weeks so guess that's what I'm going to ask forI've not bought any clothes for the last 18 months and it wasn't ever something I spent loads on. However in positive news, I've lost quite a bit of weight since January and so I've gone from a large size 18 to a size 16. So it will be nice to have jeans that are in my new size.

Hey Kakiste, that sounds like an awesome site! Well done you! It’s such a great feeling when you manage to get presents sorted within budgets! I did that last year for Xmas and felt amazing! Have a look at H&M, I managed to get some jeans on there for £9 last week. And well done on the weight loss too! You’re doing amazingly!2

Thanks.
I smashed 1.5 stone weightloss by hitting the gym in 2019
I've not put any weight back on since lockdown but the weight loss has plateaued since the gyms closed so it'll be lovely to get back to it on the 25th.Bottom line;

Made banana bread this evening with the sprog as I got four bananas from food group that were a lot past their best. Sprog is now checking every 5 mins if it's cool enough to eat yet.
It looks good.Bottom line;

Having a bbq with friends this evening so budgeted the spends into weekly shop. Spent £7 over normal budget but that includes all the spending for all the food- so moved £7 over from the entertainment budget to cover it.Bottom line;

Ate the remaining opened meat from the BBQ as part of dinner last night and frozen the unopened stuff- It will be enough to cover another BBQ completely so that's the next one mostly paid for!
Apparently my boss 'needs something signing off and then will talk to me tomorrow about my payrise" I've interpreted that as more potentially positive news as she expressed that she needed someone higher up in the company to sign off on the payrise, so presumably if someone needs to sign something then it's a 'yes' Anyway, should find out tomorrow.
