Card in Credit

I want to share this with you, as it may be a warning to others.
On the 5th May our travel agent refunded our cancelled holiday money back to out IHG Rewards Club Mastercard run by Creation. It is now the 18th May and the refund is still sitting on my card as an overpaid credit. The hoops I am having to jump through, to get the money transferred back to my bank account, is beyond a joke. After numerous emails and phone calls to Creation, I have now been told the earliest I can expect to see MY money back in MY bank is 21st May. This is MY MONEY, NOT THEIRS.
Has anyone else encountered such a problem, when trying to get money transferred back to their bank account from a credit card, following a refund?

    Then why did you ask?

But I don't agree with your disagreement. Many people are experiencing banking delays.

The 21st May is only a few days away. In the current situation where people are waiting weeks and months for things to happen, I really dont think you have any cause to grumble tbh.

You probably wont agree, but meh

Everyone has different circumstances but in my case, my holiday credit balance is just going to stay on my card and get spent - over the course of the next 6 or so weeks based on current usage (and it's basically paid off the past 6 weeks spending).

Means I don't have to pay anything to them monthly. And saves having to make any arrangements to get it paid out.

I actually thought that credit cards didn't like you having a positive balance but Amex are pretty relaxed about it.

Shame that they have also reversed out nearly a hundred quid in cashback but I can't really complain!

21st is only 3 days away. I'd be grateful they're offering to send it straight to my bank account instead of posting me a cheque.

Barclaycard transferred a refund to my card over to our regular current account within 24 hours, absolutely no dramas.

Same here. My request to return holiday refund credit to current account was actioned on the same day by Barclaycard and in my current account 1st thing next day.
  • In the same situation. Card is managed by New Day...£4K in credit told me it could take up to 28 days......for the love of god....why???
