Morning all. A relatively busy day yesterday. I made another 2 batches of the biscuits to the family’s delight. However as wonderful as they are, I shall give it a rest for a while. I really need to get back on the healthy eating journey. So much weight to lose and for my health as well. I managed to tidy the kitchen but I decided going onward not to put this on my jobs list as it never stays clean! I mean really
Didn’t manage the washing pile but will do today.
Congrats on the weight loss Ditty1234- are you following a specific plan?
I have never tried to add lentils to mince - I shall give that a bash next time I make shepherd’s pie.
B/L/D from stores. Macaroni cheese with frankfurters for dinner. Lunch will be left overs from last night’s stew.
Pack washing away
Wash hair, do skin care (this never gets done, so a little pampering today I think)
Tidy dining room table
Check banking - Done
While I am on here, does anyone know of a good pantry/freezer inventory app. Just want to be able to record the item, and the quantity and of course update as things get used up.

think it will be a fairly slowish day today but we’ll see where we end up! Still needs to do some jobs to keep ticking over:
washing on and out in the line
change beds and wash
small amount of painting
bake biscuits (didn’t do this yesterday)
some knitting later - this has dropped if my lists recently and I need to get back in the habit
walk after lunch
something out of freezer for tea
Wrap another birthday gift - maybe in brown paper as I think I’m all out of wrap - if so, will get the smalls to decorate it!Water things outside and inHave a good day all. Purps.6 -
Hello all,
Seems like lots of good weekends going on here. DH finished the decking yesterday and is today making sofas out of pallets. I've got the sander ready for when he's finished!
Todays list:
- Keep DH fed sufficiently (I made chocolate cake with chickpeas yesterday so going to convince him to try some)
- Help DH as he calls me
- sort through make up/face stuffs/hair stuffs/jewellery/etc
- try and find external hard drive that I had recently but have now lost
- all food from stores, hoping the wind will stay gone long enough for a bbq about 4ish
- write next weeks meal plan and hopefully not need to go to a shop
- cancel DH car insurance and SORN
Enjoy the bank holiday everyone,

Afternoon allDidn't sleep well, and was up at 6 for the dog walk, but still managing to get some things doneTackled aphid ridden apple trees this morning - on inspection, most of the aphids are at the ends of the new shoots, and the new shoots have to be cut back in any case (summer pruning for minaret trees), so I gave them a good haircut, taking care to rescue any ladybirds that were on the prunings, as I was pleased to see that there are lots of those as well as aphids. I rarely use pesticides, preferring to rely on nature to provide most solutions, in this case ladybirds and small birds, both of which eat aphids! Anyway, the trees look better now without their unsightly curled up, sticky shoots! Managed to find and eat a few ripe alpine strawberries, which grow under the trees at the back of the border
One of the trees has quite a few apples coming, but the blossom on the other got frosted I think, as I couldn't see any on there. That doesn't mean to say that there may not be a couple hiding though, as the trees are getting quite dense now.
Also gave the trees a good water, picked some broad beans and radishes, and emptied one of the radish troughs and replanted it with basil. I fill the shelf of my mini greenhouse with basil plants every year year. I grow them from seed (they are easy) and cut the basil leaves frequently to make pesto. Pesto that doesn't get eaten right away is frozen. It keeps fine in the freezer for ages.We had HM tomato soup from the freezer for lunch, and will have leftover shepherds pie with veg for dinner.I have an As*a delivery coming later this afternoon, and will need to water the garden, but am sitting with a coffee atm listening to a Northern soul DJ set hosted on FB by a friend, with live music from another friend promised for later. We normally attend a small private festival over the late May BH weekend, hosted by family members. Obviously it hasn't been able to go ahead this year, but there have been various watch parties - we didn't bother with the trance sets last nightbut quite like the Sunday afternoon music

Afternoon folks!
Slept in until gone 8 today! Must get back into an earlier wake up time before I start my new job! Had a zoom call at 9 and then was sorting various bits and bobs out til 10.30. Had some sausage butties with OH then decided to go on a solo allotment mission. OH picked me up an hour ago and then he made some scones so that we could finish off the clotted cream and strawberries
In terms of MSEness:Digging out weeds at the allotment - done
B/L/D from stores - must cook the chicken I took out yesterday - done
Used dehumidifier water for the hanging baskets - done
Reusable sanitary wear - done
Might do a bit of crochet as I'm quite sore and tired now! - might just flop about
Have a good rest of the day

That is the rate of weight loss I would like, slow and steady (and hopefully permanent).
So far over lockdown, my weight has increased, due to larger portions, snacks and being less active.
I need to draw a line under my previous behaviour and work out a plan,
Step 1) stop weight increasing.
