Morning everyone. Have enjoyed a quiet early start to the day. A coffee in hand, no noise, pure bliss. I didn’t get to go out yesterday. But had a relatively good day anyway. I managed to tidy the lounge, but not so much the kitchen. Still pleased I did something constructive. I made a lovely mayonnaise and paprika chicken which went down well. And for the first time in my life, I made biscuits. Granted it was only the easy 123 ingredient ones, but I added cranberries, walnuts and pistachio nuts to the mixture. They turned out amazing. I am no domestic goddess and usually I mess up recipes, but these biscuits came out so well. I was incredibly proud of them. So much so I shall make some more today or tomorrow.
B/L/D from stores - although lunch is left over chicken from yesterday
Clean kitchen
Check bank and update YNAB - Done
Read a chapter of my book
Pack washing away
That’s enough for me - I need to have only a couple of jobs because I inevitability never end up finishing the list. I figure if I keep it small, I will actually do them.
Oh yes, DD did hand in her portfolio, although wasn’t able to finish all of her work, so not sure how that is going to go. Let’s hope the tutor is kind, given the change in deadline...

Morning Purps - all fires including bbqs have been banned by our council dt the covid situation. I think it's the first year that we would have been actually able to do several too! Having said that, we could really do with some rain now.

I'm not sure of our plans, both OH and myself have woken with our brains not fully functioning, his due to finally having a proper nights sleep after weeks of waking up stressing about a project at work, mine possibly hormones who knows.
It is windy again here today but unlike yesterday the sky is dark grey and occasionally the sun finds a tiny gap to shine for a couple of seconds.
Today we plan to make feel different from the rest of the week and include plenty of family time entertainment.
Today's plan:teach ds to make pita bread, he asked us to show him
Use pita bread and other food we have in to make meze inspired platter for dinner, olives, humous, taramasalata, salad, falafel etc
Make a loaf of bread
Play board games
Watch a film, probably by studio ghibli
quick tidy of the living room
update freezer inventory
give the washing machine the day off as we are up to date with the washing thanks to the last few days being good days for drying
read my book
prepare some resources for next weeks lessons

Afternoon all (just!)Wrote a long post earlier and it disappeared!Anyway, Happy Anniversary to CLFNarola, those biscuits sound goodOH decided to get up with me and come for the usual 5am dog walk. Not sure what caused that!Made sausage sandwiches for breakfast with a couple of sausages left over from last nightKitchen clean upLoaf in the BMSorted camper van insurance once the call centre opened. We hadn't been sent a renewal quote / documents, and it is due next week. All done now. The company we use is not the absolute cheapest (though always one of the cheapest when I do a comparison) but the small saving wouldn't make it worth leaving imho, because their customer service is very good. Don't mind paying a few pounds extra for that - last thing you need if you have to make a claim is a load of hassle. I had to do exactly that a few years ago, and they were excellent. We seem to have all kinds of weather today. It is sunny atm, and very windy. Earlier we had 2 really heavy hail and rain showers though. Pleased about that, as the garden needs the rain, but I wouldn't have liked to be out in it!No great plans for the rest of the day, but I must fold up and put away the clean washing, and make a shepherds pie base for dinner. I will add lentils to make the mince go further (almost undetectable - some people prefer to add oats, but I find that a bit porridgey) and use the mixed root veg mash I made the other day for a topping, with some grated cheeseI will need to check to see what wants watering outside - greenhouse stuff will, at least. And put some stuff away, as it looks untidy in here (again).5

I prefer to add lentils to eke out the meat ration. I have occasionally added oats (just a small amount) but in addition to the lentils to help the sauce thicken.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Dawn - I'm a big fan of using lentils instead. I also find that black beans go well in a shepherd's pieLBM 11/06/2010: DFD 30/04/2013Total repaid: £10,490.314
