Car accident... Who's fault?

Today I was part of a car accident.
So my street is a narrow street with cars either side. Today I was parallel parking, so I pulled up next to a stationery car ready to reverse into my spot. I checked mirrors and nothing was behind me so I proceeded to reverse, as I was reversing a lady decided to pull out of the opposite side of the street she was driving the opposite way, as she pulled out my car hit hers.

Now I made sure there Road was clear before I started to reverse, she obviously didn't check her mirror before pulling out and pulled out and I ended up reversing into the side of her.
I am under the impression this would be her fault as I was already reversing to park before she decided she was gonna pull out.

What do you guys think?

Thanks

I'm not the loss adjuster, if I was, then I'd be favouring the 3rd party.
  • Surely though if I'm already moving, she should make sure there is nothing coming, especially since I was coming from behind. Before pulling out onto the road?
  • Checked all mirrors then reversed, yes she was pulling out the opposite way to what I was reversing. What do you mean by a3 or a4? Sorry if I'm being a bit of a crayon.

Your fault. You were reversing and failed to constantly look in the direction of travel. If you were, you would have seen her approach and would not have reversed into her car.
  • She wasn't approaching tho, she was parked at the side of my car. Whilst reversing she pulled out. Shouldn't she have checked her mirrors to see anything was coming down the road behind her?

A3 and A4 are paper sizes so a dig at your misspelling of "stationary"

Why would she need to check her mirrors if she was driving forwards and not changing lane?

Because she was pulling out of a car space onto the road where there could be traffic either way?

You reversed into them. Your fault. Same as you reversing into a stationary object.
