Possible speeding charge imminent ?

Today thought I was driving in a 40 but turned out it was actually a 30 I know I was doing below 40 but not sure by how much as it's not a digital speedo. The police had a hand held camera and when I approached they didn't stop me but the guy holding the camera threw both his hands out to his side in a "what  are you doing" manner.
There was no other traffic about so they could easily have pulled me over as I saw them couple of weeks ago with a hand held camera pull someone over.
So am I likely to be getting a NIP in the post as I'm a bit of a loss otherwise as to what the policemans gesture meant.

Unlikely, the most likely would have stopped you.

Read on another forum from a policeman who said that it's easier for them  to pull someone over rather than send letters and having to get someone to identify who was driving.
  • This hand held ones are unreliable anyway. The manual says mount them on a tripod. Hand held its only supposed to be used for getting an indication.

Good luck fighting it though, the courts aren't interested in police mistakes.

Have you not considered the fact the camera may well have been mounted on a tripod.

No the hand held cameras are not that big he was holding the camera in one hand when he threw his arms out to the side there was no tripod

They had the car parked out of site but it was close they could have easily held up their hand to get me to stop but didn't
