Submitted my claim at midday,  one thing I might have made a mistake with is the "address associated with bank account" is this the address of the bank, or my home address for bank mail? I put my home address.
I put home address too hope thats right haha
Yes I have asked, it is the address the bank use to send mail to you.  So your current home address.

Can someone clarify please the effect this has on claiming the Self Employment Grant and the effect this has on reporting it on Tax Credits. On one hand the Gov website states the below: (drawing attention to the final point).

You will need to report the grant:

    • on your Self Assessment tax return
    • as self-employed income for Universal Credit claims
    • as self-employed income and that you’re working 16 hours a week, as changes to your tax credits claims
Then there is advice on Gov website that says:

The government has confirmed that people who can’t work their normal hours because of coronavirus (COVID-19) will still receive their usual tax credits payments.

Those working reduced hours due to coronavirus or those being furloughed by their employer will not have their tax credits payments affected if they are still employed or self-employed.

These customers do not need to contact HMRC about this change. We will treat customers as working their normal hours until the Job Retention Scheme and Self Employment Income Support Scheme close, even if they are not using either scheme.

We’ll use the information we hold about the number of hours they normally work.

So my point is if someone is part of a couple and one is working 30 hours and the other isn’t working then would they need to report that they are now working 16 hours a week or not? Both bits of information above are on the Gov websites but are contradicting?

When I submitted my claim I saw no where declare tax credits/information, it was just to confirm if your work has stopped (which mine has)   am I right in thinking those that are still claming tax credits, had their credits increased to help bridge back to work again.   i.e. if you have stopped work and are not due back in a month or so you go on universal credits, but if you have stopped work and are due to start again June 1st for example you stay on Tax Credits and just claim the lost income through SE grant.

  • Does it give you the calculation of your payment due at the point of claiming. Thanks
yes full calculations and payment amount
  • It the online form in the form of a questionnaire? What questions does it ask exactly and does it give an estimate of when payment is expected to be made exactly?

Just shows what you earnt and what they pay and asks you for bank details and will you declare you have been affected. It says will get payment in 6 working days
  • Has anyone had problems registering because HMRC have messed up with wrong NI number?  Letter had an incorrect last digit and it means it doesn't recognise my application. Been in the phone for an hour now waiting for tier two hMRC support!

I'm down 1.5-2k depending how you would calculate it. They've calculated it over 36 months but I went self employed January 2017 which means I was only self employed 26 months.
