done mine also. Don't think its right they are doing it over 36 months even if you went self employed in tax year 2016/17. I went self employed at the end of January 2017 so i was self employed 26 months but they've done the average over 36 months which doing it that way makes me a quite abit down1

Does it give you the calculation of your payment due at the point of claiming. Thanks

Yes, gives you full split, total, average, with 20% taken off, then payment amount

It doesn't matter. Even if you only traded for one day in 2016/17, it counts as a full year for the grant calculation. It was done this way to automate the process. If it took into account months you were self employed, it wouldn't be workable at all.slacky1230 said:done mine also. Hi, can i ask you how to claim? I went on the eligibility tool and after confirming my contact details I was told I could claim today from 8am. Will I be sent a confirmation email today possibly with a link to claim.Rosabell said:Just applied for my grant, have to say very straightforward, took only 5 mins. Go to same web page as when you registered https://www.gov.uk/guidance/claim-a-grant-through-the-self-employment-income-support-scheme and sign in. You'll need your government gateway ID but if you don't have one the site says you can create one during the application process.ssdkck said:

Just tick the boxes, fill in your details and that's it. Took me 5 minutes.
You'll need your bank sort code and account number too.1 -

It does matter though really doesn't it. I see where your coming from that its automated but i can't see how they can average it out over 36 months when you haven't been self employed that long. I'm sure alot of people will be in the same boat as me not getting the full amount their due because of the time they choose to better themselves and go self employed.Jeremy535897 said:

I did this earlier, very easy no problems all was confirmed etc only that once finished I went to make a brew and I obviously was still logged in I came back a little bit later to a message to say it had timed out and all details had been deleted and there was start again button showing, do you think this is just a security measure only and my details are still recorded and in process or do you think I would need to start again?
