Are many of you leaning more towards fixed rate savings after all of this?
  • Marcus no longer accepting applications for the 1yr fixed saver either (though its rate could be beaten).

Wonder if it’ll get to the stage of upgrading my 123 lite back up a level?!...
  • More great news - not!
Not worth bothering moving money for a few pounds here and there.

Does anyone know of any bank which offers a competitive fixed rate for 1 or 2 years whereby they give you around 30 days to deposit the money in the account, most only give 14 days?

Vanquis offer 30 days from application date.
  • People with fixed rate mortgages are being hit quite hard (financially) with BoE base rate cut in March
    - they can't get any benefit on their mortgage
    - they lose savings interest rate

I had opened account early last week and got this email last night from Marcus...

Might as well spend it....oh, wait, we can't go anywhere or do anything to spend it!!!
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

  • first first time I’ve posted on this forum so forgive the “thick” question. I have 0.1% bonus due to renew end September. Is the bonus part of the monthly interest payment I receive?

Which account are you talking about? Marcus bonus is 0.15%, part of your interest payment, and it does not renew but expires at the end of 12 months.

What was the 1 Yr. rate and although withdrawn. Would they let existing easy access account holders transfer money ie. the DR account only withdrawn to new applicants.
