I've just been reading the latest coronavirus restrictions amendment, pretty sure this means moves are back on.....please correct me if I'm wrong.
“(l) to undertake any of the following activities in connection with the purchase, sale,
letting or rental of a residential property—
(i) visiting estate or letting agents, developer sales offices or show homes;
(ii) viewing residential properties to look for a property to buy or rent;
(iii) preparing a residential property to move in;
(iv) moving home;
(v) visiting a residential property to undertake any activities required for the
rental or sale of that property;”;

    Good point, I've updated my post.
    I moved into a static caravan for what was supposed to be 2 weeks on 12th March after selling my house and before exchanging on my purchase, so this is most welcome news!

    Robert Jenrick, secretary of state for Housing, Communities & Local Government has posted on his Twitter account @RobertJenrick : "Tomorrow I will be making a statement in @UKParliament. 🏡As Secretary of State at @mhclg I'll be updating Parliament on important news for the housing market."

    ...It's currently the pinned tweet. Fingers crossed viewings will be able to resume promptly.

    On that note, has anyone else noticed the figures on their Zoopla listing counters have shot up since Sunday? I'm not making any political points – is it due to optimism in the air perhaps?

    Good, this will unlock the market for transactions again. Estate agents and surveyors no longer have an excuse for not conducting physical viewings and surveys.

    Some odd contradictions in all of this e.g. you can exercise in the public open air with no more than one member of another household, but go poking around inside an infinite number of other people's homes in the name of house-viewing.

    Isn’t it obvious? The country is economically being brought to its knees. The government are trying to curtail the fallout by getting the country economically going again. But that doesn’t mean it’s risk free. So anything without an economic benefit is being shelved for the time being. Not saying it’s ideal but there are many other things that can kill people other than  COVID-19 and poverty is one of the biggest killers...
  • Probably get going again then second spike and back we go
