What if I update it now but have no idea when I will be going back to work? I'm not receiving furlough pay my wage is zero. But I don't know when I will start earning again.whizzywoo said:
Give them an updated figure for 200/21 for what you are going to earn whilst being furloughed. But remember to go back and update it again when you are out of furlough and earning the full amount. Otherwise you may end up with an overpayment.Coz said:
I'm confused about this part:bigbill said:
"However, now that the new tax year has started on 6 April 2020, you should be sure to give HMRC an updated estimated income for 2020/21 so they can see if your award for 2020/21 can be adjusted."
Is the updated income for 2020/21 what we would have earned if we were still working or what we are going to earn whilst being furloughed?0 -
Both of us have been furloughed but in the same time I am not paying for childcare. So, do I declare it or everything keeps going as per gov website?0

You have to declar the childcare .you tell them you ain’t paying for childcare1

I'm still confused as to how my income for 2020/21 can be estimated if I don't know when my income will start up again.0

That's why it's an estimate. If you are not receiving any furlough wages but are still employed then presumably you put nil for the wages being received. If you are unsure what to put then I suggest you ring and speak to the Tax Credit people.Coz said:I'm still confused as to how my income for 2020/21 can be estimated if I don't know when my income will start up again."All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of thing shall be well."

But then do I put nil for the hours aswell? That might suggest that I don't have a job and then my WTC would stop. Is there an option when renewing online to say that you are being furloughed?whizzywoo said:

I don't know. Try reading this information and if you are still confused then it's probably best to ring them.Coz said:

Can't work out if this means that WTC will stop for the self-employed working less hours on 31st May when the scheme stops or if it will go on until October when the furloughed scheme finishes. Very worrying to have both SEISS (S/E grant) and tax credits stop.bigbill said:0 -

As answered on your other thread, it continues. There's been no further annoucnements yet regarding the SEISS.

No - do not declare nil hours or it will potentially end your tax credits. You don't declare any change of hours - you are treated as still working the required number of hours. You don't need to tell them you are furloughed. If you are furloughed, you should be receiving 80% pay as a minimum.Coz said:
