Tax credit renewal

When renewing tax credits, do we fill it out as though we still have a job and are still working even though we are furloughed (even without furlough pay)? Can this be done online?
Also, how long is WTC been extended for?

yes they have changed it and removed the 8 weeks - it is now until the end of the job retention scheme (even if you/your employer aren't claiming under the scheme)k2020 said:Yes . 8 weeks unless they have changed it in the last few days .when you renewal they just ask about your annual income form the year just gone and not future income well at least when I renewed online it only asked what I earned up to 5th April1 -
Is there a official statement on that somewhere?JessicaF_2 said:yes they have changed it and removed the 8 weeks - it is now until the end of the job retention scheme (even if you/your employer aren't claiming under the scheme)Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Thanks bigbill - that’s very helpful.bigbill said:Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -
Thank you. I'm still unsure whether or not apply for New Style Job Seekers if I'm not going to be asked back to work for a while, as I'm not entitled to furlough pay. I should get it alongside WTC shouldn't I? And not go for an interview or actively seek work? But how long would that be paid for?
Also, when renewing my tax credits, do I need information such as tax code and gross earnings? As I didn't get my wage slip for March, so I would need to ask my boss to send it to me.0 -
So are they paying WTC until October even if we are still not working until then?JessicaF_2 said:

I'm confused about this part:bigbill said:
"However, now that the new tax year has started on 6 April 2020, you should be sure to give HMRC an updated estimated income for 2020/21 so they can see if your award for 2020/21 can be adjusted."
Is the updated income for 2020/21 what we would have earned if we were still working or what we are going to earn whilst being furloughed?0 -
Give them an updated figure for 200/21 for what you are going to earn whilst being furloughed. But remember to go back and update it again when you are out of furlough and earning the full amount. Otherwise you may end up with an overpayment.Coz said:
