eve824 said:Just a quick update. Got legal help through our home insurance, they basically said it's a total nonsense claim (their words) and that it should be struck out. Put their written defence in - legal style of writing and very clear we had involved a lawyer. Refused mediation so his only next step was to pay the hearing fee. It did the trick and scared him off as he never responded or took it any further and let the claim expire. Thanks for the help given.I'd still go round with half dozen eggs and when he answers the door just say "i've got something to put on your face" hahaha0

I see the idiot has followed his solicitors advice and dropped it.
Do you think that extends to telling the court in your defence that you are aware that the claimants solicitor has told you that they have advised their client that they have no claim ?
(I am very surprised that any solicitor would actually tell you this but perhaps the solicitor wants some money but has no appetite for court)

Believe me I am so very tempted to go over with a box of eggs!!! Especially as he doesn't know where we live now (I updated my correspondence address direct with MCOL so he wouldn't see our residential address, seeing as he's proven to be a bit unhinged). He does know where I work though, and in theory could make my life difficult from that point of view, so to not aggravate him I think I will let it go....
Jumblebumble - I think it was entirely circumstantial that I got that nugget of information out of his solicitor. I didn't even ring them fishing for information, I had received an email from him saying he never received a reply to his letter (we sent reply though solicitors). I was Bcc'd in the email from my solicitor to his solicitor so I decided to not bother mine and ring theirs up just to check they forwarded it on. The lady I spoke to was the only one left in the office after lockdown and she was upset about that and clearly had enough of our difficult buyer so went on a little rant to me about how difficult he was and how when they had told him he had no case he was very nasty to them - I think she needed to vent and I rang up at the right time!! Probably not strictly professional but I was a listening ear I suppose. I just hope he doesn't try to go after them now!
