Thanks - that is what I meant and plan to do......
I have a 3 year old Suzuki Baleno - and am considering a new Suzuki Vitara - do you think that any bargains will be offered ?
Almost certainly, if you can find a Vitara in stock somewhere and it's not in high demand.
Small, cheap 3 year old cars will sell pretty well.

Are they still pumping out new cars - or have they stopped until the pandemic is over ?
If so - where are they all ?
    In storage ?

According to Honest John - used car prices have increased in the last few months
This implies that it could be a good move to sell a used car, now and purchase a new car in a few months time ?
and drive what in the meantime?
To go where? I'm not sure I've done more than a handful of journeys I couldn't have done on foot.

Prices might even go up if manufacturers and dealers decide they need to recoup some of their lockdown losses.  I've heard reports of this happening within the holiday sector - people with cancelled 2020 holidays having to pay more to re-book the same/similar holiday in 2021.
Basically, no one really knows what will happen so place your bets

No, most of the major manufacturers have closed their factories for production. They don't keep building to fill fields anymore.
JLR is having a partial restart next week due to orders starting to come in from China etc but only on a limited 1 shift pattern with about 25% of the workforce, planning to increase by the end of June.
The others will, I assume follow a similar pattern.

    Many people are working.
Many people don't have shops within walking distance.

Yet the price of oil has dropped significantly due to lack of demand.
I'm sure I'd seen a claim that as much as 25% of the workforce was furloughed, and I haven't seen any figures on how many are working from home.
