Sold STC during lockdown?

Hi, I observed that there are some properties advertised during april and now sold STC. I am struggling to understand, are there people viewing houses during lockdown? or buying houses without even viewing ?

Viewing houses has not been outlawed (as I understand it). If the property is empty, there is nothing stopping the estate agent meeting you at the property, opening up, and letting you wander around while they wait in the car. Same goes for the survey.
If you don’t need a mortgage, there’s no need for a valuation for mortgage purposes. Councils and solicitors are still working, so technically there’s no reason why sales can’t proceed.

What about the rule to stay at home and only go out for food, medicine, exercise or work (I guess the EA is working, but not the viewers).

the only way I can see if that you jog whilst viewing (tongue firmly in cheek)
