Not about me at all. I would just like people to be greatful they have been bailed out and arent seeing a return to work as an inconvenience, as some thread starters clearly have. "Waaah waaah waaah how much notice do they have to give waaah waaah waaah I am going back and he isnt, that isnt fair waaah waah waah!"onwards&upwards said:
So it’s all about you?bradders1983 said:Its annoying, thats what. Especially when millions are carrying on working and many putting themselves in danger
Ingrates.
I work in the NHS, I don’t mind that people in jobs less fulfilling than mine are enjoying a bit of a break. I’d rather that than they were plunged into poverty, or still out at work creating more and more C19 cases every day.
Whilst a little more blunt than I would have put, I do agree with the sentiment.
As a household of five where four of us have been going out to work as normal, in fact working more than normal for three of us, and I'm grateful of that fact.
I do find the "I'm being forced back to work" comments rather tiresome. I would have thought those that have been furloughed should be happy to have a job to go back to rather than whining about it.5 -
Please don't forget that some people are genuinely scared.
They've been isolated at home for weeks and weeks, being told that venturing out risks lives, and with supermarkets etc. enforcing social distancing. Its not that surprising that some are alarmed at the prospect of suddenly being less than a metre away from a co-worker all day.

Yes you can blame the government for that one. The number of people on FB, Twitter and others forums advocating that leaving your house means instaed death is ridiculous.onwards&upwards said:Please don't forget that some people are genuinely scared.

Having so many people staying at home has saved many many lives.bradders1983 said:

Yes but nobody is going to drop dead if they leave the house by the same token.onwards&upwards said:

Some people will be in for a shock when restrictions start getting lifted.0 -
No, but they have the possibility of catching it, it's serious.
Yes, restrictions will be lifted eventually though people are rightly cautious of working right beside people and possibly taking the virus home to there loved ones.0 -
And a lot of people seem to think means catching it means you die. Again, the government has done a very good job in striking fear into people. They now have to start unpicking all of this, hopefully starts tomorrow when that mantra finally gets dropped.just_trying said:No, but they have the possibility of catching it, it's serious.

I believe most people realise not everyone dies when they catch it though it's a awful illness. It's not fear it's reality, maybe the government should have acted sooner they knew it was coming.
I don't believe there will be much changes tomorrow.

its all totally ridiculous the amount of fear that's been drummed into people
Ive been working throughout, we don't have PPE, we work closely with each other even though we do our best to keep apart, we have a tiny rest room, we stagger breaks but theres no one sanitising the place after each use
I go shopping, I stand in queues, people reach past me when Im browsing a shelf, shelf stackers are still taking up most of the aisle space, the checkout supervisors still use the tiny desk area in front of a till, the till Im standing at waiting the customer in front to finish packing and move on before I can move forward
Im in NI, we have have very few deaths, I think its about 300, and even the government here admit that nearly 50% of those deaths have occurred in Nursing homes, home that have been locked down as in no visitors, and yet we are now on another 3 weeks of lockdown. Don't know what its like other there but I can assure you, we have the police stopping us at every junction it seems
Yes businesses are opening up slowly, yes thats seen an increase in road traffic, and what do I see on FB, people moaning. Even saw a moaning post from someone who is on Furlough and has got herself a part time job in my local shop !!!
Yes I do understand people are scared, but why is that? The GVT.
Im of the age when the HIV campaign was around, it caused so much hatred and distrust. Back then it was if you had unprotected sex you were going to die a horrible death. Not those exact words, but that was the message that was coming across3 -
Glad someone else agrees. Someone on a local FB group here was claiming, without a hint of irony, that people sitting in their cars to go through a KFC drive thru was going to cause a "spike in deaths" in the city.
People not leaving their cars, ordering without leaving their cars and collecting food without leaving their car. People have become paranoid all thanks to the government.
