Scrapit, this is a good forum. It was not designed for the combative, methodical, collective approach it has adopted. So in the circumstances it does an amazing job. I'm not aware of any other online resource that would have helped me to fight my first & only PCN successfully as this one did.
If you can do better, set up your own site. Criticism is too easy.4 -
A futile argument imo, we do our best, but have to work within the confines of the format, over which we have little control. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.3

It's not a case of what I think. The proof is in the pudding, or the posting(s) in this case. But your defensiveness is an amusing case of shooting the messenger. CM Agrees that the thread has faults, if you can see clearly you would also.Umkomaas said:The easiest step for many, if they can't hack the advice, is to pay the PPC to get them off their back. But that just feeds the monster. Why not draft an alternative to the sticky if you think it isn't fit for purpose?
If you are going to use metaphors, at least try to get them correct. It is - the proof of the pudding is in the eating.Scrapit said:
Just highlighting the obvious. It's clear, without my posts, that people have problems. The sheer weight of posts illustrate that, from what I have read you are likely to comment on them. Another thing that is obvious is that the forum is titled "parking tickets, fines & parking" yet it does deal with fines. Don't hate the player, hate the game.Umkomaas said:It's not a case of what I think. But you're quite happy to tell everyone about it!
Also, recently sent a message to the board guides for this sub-forum asking them to remove the "fine" bit and also add "non-council" but I guess they are too busy with the relaunch of the forum in it's new guise.
If you don't like what is offered, feel free to get your advice from another forum or, give positive advice about how to change it rather than just complaining about what is here. Lots of posters have been helped and are grateful. Probably get shot down in flames for this comment (and I don't normally comment about posters and their attitude) but something had to be said.4 -
If it's too easy then there's clearly a problem. You can be part of the problem, part of the solution or just an observer. The choice is yours.MistyZ said:Scrapit, this is a good forum. Also the title isn't the only problem but I haven't got the time or inclination to list them all. Like I said it's clear from others unrelated posts there's a problem.
It is what it is. It cannot be denied.0 -
The content that I take issue with is within posters control. Take the hint or don't. Up to you guys. But don't be surprised when people say it's difficult to follow. I found it difficult but still managed. Others clearly don't.D_P_Dance said:A futile argument imo, we do our best, but have to work within the confines of the format, over which we have little control.0
