Cos, like a car park sign, it's neither clear nor obvious. HTH

It is a complicated issue, involving inter alia, contract law, consumer legislation, tort, trespass,Companies law,  The Housing Acts to name but a few.  Why do you expect things to be obvious.  Fighting a complcated parking claim involves hours and hours of research and a great deal of writing.

If this is not for you, pay up.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Because it's the instructions, not the process that is confusing people. A very good example is the second post in the news thread. Chronological order would have this 3rd in the thread after what is currently the 3rd post. However this cannot be rectified now as you would have the dichotamy of having it in the correct order versus all the references in posts to it. That's just one example amongst many

Yeah, so sorry about that...hardly my fault...!  Try running a sticky thread for seven years and adapting it to change to meet the needs of new posters.

The NEWBIES thread was started back in 2013 when court cases were as rare as hen's teeth, so the 1st post was about appealing to the PPC then the second one about POPLA (IAS didn't exist) and the 3rd one was about complaining to the BPA and DVLA I think, and the 4th one about ignoring debt letters.

There was no post about defending court cases.  So sorry I moved the subsequent posts and moved the less needed 'BPA & DVLA complaints' info down to #5 to make it work...

The order of the posts is now (deliberately) in order if high-importance need:

    1. Appeals without shooting your toes off and blabbing about being the driver
    2. Court and everything connected to that...
    3.  The rest of the less important stuff...POPLA is rubbish and IAS is bent & not worth trying.
    4.  The stupidly unimportant stuff (debt collector letters...yawn)
    5.  Complaining to the BPA and IPC and DVLA.

Well it's always gonna be evolving and let's remember these are posts, not a how to website. But let's also rember people new to this may struggle, I did and read all the correct posts and did what was in them. The process is simple but it has complicated steps.

The easiest step for many, if they can't hack the advice, is to pay the PPC to get them off their back. But that just feeds the monster.

Why not draft an alternative to the sticky if you think it isn't fit for purpose?
It's not a case of what I think. The proof is in the pudding, or the posting(s) in this case. But your defensiveness is an amusing case of shooting the messenger. CM Agrees that the thread has faults, if you can see clearly you would also.

But you're quite happy to tell everyone about it!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Just highlighting the obvious. It's clear, without my posts, that people have problems. The sheer weight of posts illustrate that, from what I have read you are likely to comment on them. Another thing that is obvious is that the forum is titled "parking tickets, fines & parking" yet it does deal with fines. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

Presumably you mean 'doesn't deal with fines'?  That's why we, as standard, refer people who've incurred fines to PePiPoo where experts in that area frequent and advise.

Regulars have no (or very little) influence over what MSE Towers title sub-forums. Regulars have been trying to get them to significantly change their default (awful) initial appeal - where users present their heads onto the executioner's chopping block - but without any success in the whole time I've been a member here (since January 2013).

So what's your point? You acknowledge there's failings but try to dig me out for saying there is failings. A tad hypocritical innit?
