If I was to buy one from Europe, what are the pit falls?? ie warranty etc. Also what would I need to convert the plug and where can I get one from. Thanks

You need the type that is at the top of this page. Don't get a travel adaptor, a fit on plug is the easiest.

As for the warranty, you can register with nintendo UK with the card that is in the box..or register online at https://www.nintendo.co.uk.

will nintendo.co.uk honour the guarantee if the ds was purchased from abroad? im considering the red one which isnt available in the uk

Not too sure. If bought in Europe they will.

However, given that the DS is region free, it's likely they will. I suppose the best thing to do is contact them & ask...unless anyone here knows for sure.
