That's not really a good idea unless nearly all your browsing starts with looking for a page you've never visited before. Use Bookmarks/favorites to store all your regularly visited pages, and get there faster, more securely,and without informing Google of your browsing habits.Bogof_OAP said:My default browser page is Google

I raised the question because you seemed sure that a 'green verisign' was a sure way of being sure you're on the right site.
This is not the case - it depends very much on your system and your browser.
So suggesting people look for it as a check is misleading people - its absence is not a problem if you're using a browser that doesn't use that system.
For instance Chrome doesn't do this on my Win10 machine, neither does Opera.
If you want to check you could, er, google it.
