Nevertheless, that’s the official stat, and that’s what I was repeating, so my grasp of stats is bears no relevance, so how about have a couple hours away from the internet eh.bradders1983 said:
And that stat is utterly meaningless in isolation.Jayjay08 said:

Seems pretty pointless carrying on you asked what she could do and you have been told. You do not have to agree with us. If her work wants her back she has to go if she wants paying basically.0

So it’s kinda escalated here, shes not a workshy chancer trying to get a seat on the couch for another couple of weeks. As far as I was aware the government guidelines and advice, in Scotland, were, stay at home, close your business unless it’s directly related to the fight against coronavirus, which hers isn’t, only go out for food, medical supplies etc, stay home, save lives, protect the NHS, no non essential travel etc.As far as I’m aware this advice hasn’t changed and sturgeon this morning extended Scotland’s lockdown for a further there weeks. So the company appears to be opening back up against government advice and guidelines and I was asking if this made any difference to her being made to go back to work.0

The chances of a 600 employee business opening in contravention of the rules seem very low.
The Scottish Regs seem identical to the English so unless there is something else that we are missing the business is permitted to be open.
Factories are not mentioned at all within the SI: http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ssi/2020/103/schedule/1/made
Even if Sturgeon said something else in a speech the rules are as published.1 -
Surely it's quite simple - if she doesn't want to go back then don't ....but don't expect to get paid either salary, furlough salary or sickness pay.1

That's good.Jayjay08 said:shes not a workshy chancer trying to get a seat on the couch for another couple of weeks.
Can she work from home?
Is she in one of the industries that has been told to close?
Is her workplace open?
If NO - NO - YES, then she has to go to work.0 -
The Scot knows all about demanding her way but having someone else pay for itDr_Crypto said:

OP, those of us who have worked in public facing roles all through lockdown with no PPE etc for much of it are still here, go back to work and you will probably be fineAn answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......0 -
Well yes, but we are one of the most populous countries, so that the raw statistic isn’t telling you anything particularly useful.Jayjay08 said:

What are you wanting people to tell you here? If she doesn’t want to go back to work then no-one’s going to hold a gun to her head, but it may we’ll cost her her job. It’s entirely her choice, so if she feels that strongly about it she can just say no and wait to see what happens. She’s hopefully got a few months salary in savings, and if so can use that to get by until she finds something else.
Best of luck to her whatever she decides to do.1
