I live in Northern Ireland and haven't had any letters since lockdown. Parcel deliveries have been fine. My aunt sent a letter and a parcel together last week, got the parcel but no sign of the letter.
Northern Ireland as well and as far as I can tell we have had deliveries every day bar Sundays and bank holidays

Amazon stuff mum orders comes on time, other stuff may take up to a week longer

Tax return turned up on time though :(

My postman spends more time in fancy dress updating facebook than anything else.  The old dears love it, i would rather just have my mail but each to their own
RM decide what gets/doesnt get delivered and have a blanket lock down on overtime.
So do you expect them to work for free? RM are busy lapping it up and playing the PR game. 'Thumbs up for posties' in public and middle finger to everything but profit behind the scenes.
My hubby works in a Mail Centre and has had no issues with overtime. 4 days (thats the maximum as none on a Monday or a Saturday) every week. That said he’s about the only one in his area who hasn’t been off sick and the most senior (33 years service)

MCs have always has different rules ;)
Spoke to a postie today and they are simply leaving/not sorting mail and working to finish times as instructed.
I know this is the case in multiple delivery units across Edinburgh/Lothians

Where did i say they should be working for free?  Perhaps you could point that out?  What I said is my postman spends more time in fancy dress updating facebook.
To be clear he is doing that in work time, as are several posties in the area.  They are still delivering but would get twice as much delivered in their paid hours if they weren't stopping for photo's every few minutes.
Ah you mean the RM sanctioned bollox PR?
Check out RMs social media platforms and see them lapping it up.
This suits RMs happy chirpy story line. Along with Thumbs up for posties dirge.
So once again,RM decide what happens. If you feel your mail isnt being delivered due to fancy dress then I suggest you complain

They are delivering parcels fairly reliably, but letters seem to arrive in large batches and not every day.

Royal Mail is highly erratic.   Some letters are being received within a day or two as normal but some are arriving weeks after they were sent.  One of our offices had a sack full of letters delivered the other day with some of it dated as early as 8th April.  Nearly a month late.
