Perhaps stop the O/Ps and sink that into savings, if you are safe you can then drop the money into a bulk O/P. The extra money in the bank would give you additional breathing space.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.4

Thanks Movingforwards, im fortunate in the respect that we do have an emergency fund with roughly 4 months ( 5 if we where really frugal) living costs in. OH also has a recent inheritance that we could fall back on ( this is his retirement fund) so we are a very fortunate and if the worst did happen we could manage until I found another job. I don’t want to stop the overpayments to the mortgage, if anything it’s spurring me on to get it gone.Been looking at new carpet today, we will use our refund from our holiday in May as I think it’s unlikely we will go away this year. Looking forward to getting some outstanding jobs done around the house and our bedroom could do with freshing up so I’ll use any remaining annual leave for this now.Aiming to be mortgage free in 3 years June 2023.

Just popping my head round the door to say it looks like I’m going to made redundant. I have my consultation tomorrow. Feeling a whole range of emotions at the moment that are varying from relief to complete panic, I’m trying to remain positive and part of me thinks it could be the best thing that’s happening as it will spur me on to leave a job and company that I haven’t been happy in for a long time. I am preparing for my meeting today and want to be as prepared as I possibly can.Mortgage payments will stop for now and I’ll sink as much as I can whilst I’m still working into the emergency fund. Preparing to go into monk mode.......Aiming to be mortgage free in 3 years June 2023.

Good luck tomorrow, hope you get an outcome you're happy with. If it helps, it feels like I've had a weight lifted since I finished with my company, despite not finding a new job yet. I don't think I realised how much it was getting me down xMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
