39 in a 20. Just wondering how many points that will be.

Same difference - just from the opposite angle.Car_54 said:That RAC article is not totally accurate. The so-called "leeway" usually allowed is not 10% plus 2, but 10% plus 1. Plus 2 is the starting point for action.
110%+1 is the maximum "safe".
Prosecution starts at 110%+2.1 -
I don't know why you bothered to mention a speed awareness course, he wouldn't have been offered one at 21mph.AdrianC said:
These are the thresholds that usually get pulled out, and I've never seen them debunked with any authority - quite the opposite, first time I saw them, they were posted by a specialist traffic law barrister...
So - 39 in a 20? You're way above SAC (although you've had your tea and biccies). You're a good chunk above an FPN. Court date - or, rather, SJPN. Band B fine = 75%-125% of weekly income, and 4-6 points.
Plead guilty. Throw yourself on the court's mercy and accept that you dropped a very large hairy one.

Because he already went on an awareness course within 12 months and you're not allowed to take another one within 3 years of taking the first one.Johno100 said:

There would be an exception if the course done before was a different type. If the course was done in an area where there wasn't a 20mph specific course, and he did a course qualifying speed for speeding in 20mph zone in an area that did have a 20mph area specific course then he would very likely be offered it. All bets are off in this case, he is going to court stage0

Why are we discussing courses? 39 in a 20 - no chance.1

Won't be getting offered any speed awareness courses at the moment as they're not currently being given as an option during the Coronavirus crisis so where before you may have been offered a SAC now you'll get a FPN and 3 points.

There are now some online courses. At the moment these are only being offered to those with existing bookings, but that may change as the lockdown continues.MinuteNoodles said:Won't be getting offered any speed awareness courses at the moment as they're not currently being given as an option during the Coronavirus crisis so where before you may have been offered a SAC now you'll get a FPN and 3 points.

So you think had we not had covid you'd be offered a course at almost double the speed limit?MinuteNoodles said:Won't be getting offered any speed awareness courses at the moment as they're not currently being given as an option during the Coronavirus crisis so where before you may have been offered a SAC now you'll get a FPN and 3 points.0
