I received an invoice in my spam folder but as I did not recognise the company, I ignored it. Then another came, but this time from a debt recovery company asking for just under £1400 for their client, Ingenious Legal Ltd. After hours on the phone to the debt recovery agents, Ingenious and HSBC bank, it seems I was offered a PPI payout but had no knowledge of it in March of this year. I too clicked on a link last year, but have heard nothing till this invoice appeared. If they have managed to get me a payout, GREAT, but at least inform me. Surely this is not the correct way to conduct a business.0

Not for a proper company no, but it's pretty much the norm for a claims company.0

I had a letter from my bank telling me I’m getting a refund and the will send me a cheque payable in the name of Igenious legal limited!! Like most of you I have no recollection of instructing this company to act in my behalf!!0

I have contacted my bank the same one that I have had for forty years to ask why I would ask a company to claim back PPI from my own bank ? I have asked this well dodgy company for the correspondence where I have authorised them, they said I did it on line via a desk top computer, I do not have one, my signature is wrong, my initials on completing this form are wrong and my previous address is wrong too. I still have to deal with dodgy company, I don't think I should. My bank did not contact me, I have never employed IG solicitors, I have never received any monies although the cheque was sent to them and cashed !! Somebody needs to take responsibility here.. its not down to us, the piggy in the middle. Get a grip SRA and the Banks sort this dodgy company out and get our monies back to where they should be... in our pockets !

They will often request digital signatures so they can look different as it’s being done on a touchscreen with your finger (iPad, phone etc).
it has nothing to do with the banks, it’s an issue between you and the claims firm.helpful tips

I have a claim being dealt with by ingenious,i recieved a cheque from my bank back in sept 2020,i contacted ingeniuos which took 3 emails over 2 weeks for anyone to reply,a woman phoned while i was at work i said i had been trying to contact them to tell them i had recieved a cheque and wanted to know how to pay them, she asked me for the amount which i could not remember the exact at the time,i asked the question surely the bank would have contacted them with the outcome of the claim as they were representing me,she said that what usually happens,so i then asked why should i do your work for you, they getting a healthy commission for this, they have recently contacted me with a reference number for me to contact my bank to find out more info to resolve this claim, again why should i do thier work for them when i signed up i gave them authority to contact my bank for the info they required, have sent them an email and am awiting thier reply.

need help please with ppi claim done apparently on my behalf by Ingenious Legal ltd.I do not recall to have signed an agreement with them
Hi ,I had an invoice email (out of the blue )from Ingenious Legal demanding payment in 7 xays .The company has done ppi claim last year 2020, apparently on my behalf. However I do not have any recollection of instructing them to do so. I have not have any correspondence with this company until this email with the invoice. The day before the email with the invoice I have noticed they have sent a news letter- very wierd .I have seen many complaints of people clcking on Ingenious Legal page via Facebook and getting into a contract without clients clear knowledge. I fear this might have happend to me as I was exploring my options for ppi claim at the time. However I do not recall to have signed any agreement . I have not had any letters or emails from this company explaining terms or conditions or giving me cooling period of 14 days.I have not signed any forms. No correspondence at all. I wonder how this solisitors company is allowed to do this legally in UK and get away with it.
I have emailed Ingenious Legal to provide prouf of my signature and my agreement.
My PPI claim was received in June / 2020 nearly a year ago.So I wonder why suddenly now I receive an invoice from tIngenious Legal company...Surely if they have acted on my behalf they would have had that infirmation then and inform me accordingly. What kind of modern scam is this?
I have not had a single email or letter informing me that I am in contract with this company to process ppi claim.
Please advise me what should I do?
It bothers me this 7 day period ,they seem to demand payment..
I am planning to speak to my bank to check who has instructed them about the PPI claim. As far as I know when the bank payed the money into my account I had a letter only from my bank.
Please let me know if anyone is in similar situation and what could be done?
Many thanks in advance

After complaining , I have been provided with agreement and signature which is nothing like mine. The date is written in format I do not ever use.
I remember exploring the options of ppi claim via social media and compleating details, however this company Ingenious legal ltd has not had any corrospondence ,letters or emails with me to make me aware of the agreement and process of claim.
I am not sure what my next step will be , as the bank does not feel the need to be involved in yhis process.Apparantly they do not veryfy signatures as the letter for the claim is from a solisitor company.
If anyone has got any ideas how should I proceed please advise0 -
As per previous posts, they will usually ask you to sign an agreement with your finger on a phone/iPad screen. They will then electronically add the date you signed. That’ll explain, perhaps, why your signature may not match exactly to how you would write it with a pen on paper.helpful tips
