And just think, if you had called the provider instead or emailed them, you would have had the same upheld decision but be over £2000 better off.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I asked them the question, they didn't know. I then challenged them on the ad being misleading etc and had a fairly fierce debate about what they could do for me that I hadn't been able to do already. But eventually I agreed to let them have a go.
THESE GUYS HAVE BEEN GREAT! They found all sorts of PPI that I didn't even know about including one I was 100% convinced I didn't have. So far I have had 4 claims upheld with a few more still to come. They have recovered over £10,000 so far. They have definitely earned their 20% in my eyes.
Initial approvals were done by text message with links to websites so I (and probably many of you) signed the first contracts digitally, though they have since followed up asking for more physical signature samples as RBS / Natwest won't cooperate, and claim signatures that have changed over the 20+ years are not genuine.
NOTE: Some lenders may repay you directly, others will pay Ingenious. Obviously you need to be prepared to settle an invoice if the former. At this point I also have not had payment from Ingenious but it's only a few days since the claim was upheld. I will update if anything changes.0 -
Twennyfifdeen said:Hello,
Please can anyone provide some advice?
Ingenious Legal say I owe them a large amount of money, despite never writing or calling me, after I completed what I thought was a Contact Us form on Facebook, almost a year ago.
They have sent documents which does not really look like my signature on but cannot provide me original form or the emails they claim they have sent to me.
Thanks.
I heard nothing for months, then just before Covid hit, I had a text from them saying that they were still looking into whether I was entitled to anything. Covid then hit and I heard nothing more until I was contacted directly by an ex-credit card company saying that they were trying to pay me, but that INgenious had not got back to them..........sooo.........card co pay me the money, I know I have to pay INgenious the agreed %, so I email them, then wait, and wait, and wait some more. One day, I receive a text from a debt recovery company stating that I am overdue in paying my invoice........turns out this is what is due to INgenious, but I have never received an invoice, or any communication. Debt company aren't interested in speaking to me unless I am willing to whip out my card and pay them over the phone......erm, not likely matey.
I email INgenious 3 times, finally get an answer, very apologetic, email me the invoice immediately and I pay them direct. They claim that they are not using a debt recovery company, but that this company are 'managing' their payments and invoicing for them!!
Since then, 3 more claims paid out, directly to me, pretty much the same story with all, no invoices from INgenious, and so far no debt recovery threats.......money is better in my account that theirs if they can't be bothered to process it.
And yes, I have checked that all of this has not affected my credit rating.0 -

They were one of many companies offering to 'seek out' PPI claims via ads on this and many other websites.
No CMC has ever advertised on MSE and MSE has never had any links to CMCs.

Seems like these companies are charging a lot of money for doing very little. Just the same as IFAs!0

Well, teh difference is that IFAs know what they are talking about in the main while CMCs are try it on merchants who prey on those who don't know they can complain for free.

I have been approached by this company also and have received a request to forward a copy of my Driving Licence and Council Tax Bill. Have any of you been asked to provide this information?0
