Leaving broadband still in contract

Hi all, I started a contract with Vodafone for broadband last year after I moved to a new property with no broadband. I have now moved again and this time in to a property that already has broadband. I no longer need the broadband I have with Vodafone but when I tried to call and leave they let me know that I would have to buy myself out of the contract and pay the full amount due for the full term. Unfortunately I don't have that kind of money, especially at the moment. I wasn't sure if there was any way I could terminate the contract with less of a penalty as even if I was able to use the broadband at this new property I would not be getting the speeds I signed up for with Vodafone. Is there any way I can lessen the cost? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nope no way out see multiple identical posts .Can you not move Vodafone to your new home ??You will start a new contract but save the exit fees .1

@JJ_Egan @mobileron I managed to get a contract termination fee free as they could not match the speeds of my previous address as I stated in my query above. So this is clearly a way out for anyone else in this situation FYI.1

Hi all, I posted a query earlier asking if anyone knew of a way I could terminate my broadband contract with Vodafone early fee free. My circumstances are that I entered an 18 month contract with them in November however had to relocate suddenly last month for work. The place I am relocating to already has broadband so I cannot move my existing contract to this new address. I had paid for the premium superfast 2 broadband with vodafone initially and because they cannot guarantee me the same speeds at my new address they have agreed to terminate my contract fee free. I hope this helps anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation going forward. I know it has helped me so much in such a difficult time at the moment.0

Good point guys no they did not ask for proof of my address at all.Takmon said:
That's a good point because anyone can use this to get out of a contract simply by saying they are moving and giving them an address far from the nearest exchange/cabinet so the speeds will be poor.cats37 said:Did they ask for proof of your new address?0
