Evening ladies - reporting a resounding win of an argument with DH over the fact that female babies develop all their eggs whilst in their mother's womb, meaning the grandmother carries her "potential" grandchildren. He told me in front of the boys that I was talking rot...he is now sulking upstairs on his computer after being proved wrong, in front of the kids, by Google. Ha! I'm pretty sure the boys would learn Jack-!!!!!! if he was in charge of homeschooling.
On top of that, I have put the WM on at least five times. Likewise the drier (because despite my request for a washing line, it is still on the list of things to do...). I did all the ironing too - I downloaded Killing Eve to my tablet and watched the last two episodes.
I took nearly two hours doing the food shop this morning and spent an almighty £165Tesco was very busy and the queue to unload at a till took nearly twenty minutes to get to the front. I cooked sausages and chips for dinner because I ran out of steam and have just poured myself a G&T. Kitchen and dining room all clean, tidy and smelling lovely. A very kind friend sent me a big bouquet of flowers last week, which was so kind. I took out the faded tulips, stocks and freesias yesterday and added several white lilac blossoms and these, together with the lilies that are just now opening make the room smell heady and sweet. It reminded me of my first MiLaw's front room early in the morning. She used to love lilac and hyacinth. It reminded me of my old life, long ago and brought a tear to my eye. I sent my favourite SiL (still call her that, even though I've remarried) a message to say that and she sent me back a heart. Ah, what might have been....
Anyway, boys are demanding hot chocolate before bed, so best I hop to it. Hugs to all in need xxx10 -

Good evening all,
It’s been a productive day although I feel like I have been dabbling.
Dusted up and down, vacuumed the LR and hall (avoiding DH’s almost constant phone calls and DD’s online exams), cleaned the hob (properly cleaned, soaked bits and everything, go me!), cleaned toilets and bathrooms after a fashion, transplanted plantlets, made a half decent loaf of bread and a lemon drizzle cake, and cooked and tidied up the kitchen (again).
I have a grocery delivery tomorrow (my first), and I think it will be a bit like Christmas - a bit random and more exciting in the anticipation than in the reality.
I’m out of puff for this evening, so it is going to be a bit of reading then off to bed for me in the hope of a few hours sleep.
Good night all x8 -
well demands have been made - and goodness knows I don't need to make more jam so my next foray into new tastes and delights will be

Mademoiselle said:Valli, re care home people not going to hospital, not sure in UK but here when folks are admitted to long term care home it usually comes with a do not ressusitate clause, and they are there for care and safety rather to be cured, if that makes sense.
Another day of the RoD and I'm making very noticeable progress.
Local ex garden centre which closed down last year has kindly been mixing up their special recipes of potting and seed compost and put a large builders bag of it free for all. We nipped down and got 3 bags which we shared with neighbours.
Walked friend's dog.
Watered greenhouse. Bit concerned about outdoor plants as cold weather is forecast this weekend so will have to dig out fleece and cover the runner beans.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.13 -

Morning all
I'm in today and hoping to be productive. I have training this morning but then the rest of the day is mine. OH has gone to work this morning as needs to put physical things in place so some can go back next week, so I am going to make the most of if and get on in the living room.
So far today
Up, dressed, breakfast eaten
Bed made, clothes picked up
Sandwich lunch made for OH to take
Banking and finances done (benefit of not going out is nothing gets spent)
DW reloaded and kitchen is tidy
Time for another coffee and to go and sort a load for WM
See you later lovelies. Keep SMILING!12 -
Morning all,
I really should have shifted myself to see if I could see the comet at 3am, as I have been awake since 2.30am. Although I must have dropped off at some point as I woke myself up snoring - DH didnt even hear me!
Back upstairs to the paid stuff for the day today. I’ve put the wm on, and hopefully will hang some outside in a bit, although it looks a bit chilly out there.
DH already at the laptop. He also has had to get plans in place for people to return to work, but now it seems that job losses in his area are likely as a result of all this uncertainty. We wait to see.
Mmmm, Valli. Rhubarb gin! Makes my jam and pickle plans pale into insignificance.Have a peaceful day everyone.10 -
Morning everyone. Up and at it today as I've got paid stuff.
