Evening all, well back from a nice time visiting my family, with some refreshed batteries! Looks like we have lots of new people joining this challenge, so welcome to anyone whose hopped on board! Still not much to report from me, however its still behind the scenes work, which will be paid out soon. Have had to buy a few expensive things for mystery shops so am also waiting on them reimbursing me. Still, i've managed to make some dints in the credit cards and £100 has gone into my regular savers account, so slowly but surely. Now busy catching up with the surveys!

Guesty6, well done on the sale of your van, that must have been a nice little boost. Also well done to everyone else who is chipping away at those mean debts!

Wow - took me a while to track the thread down - half way down page 4 - this board is even busier than I remember!

Just wanted to say I have spent the evening getting a proper handle on my finances - debts sadly about 2K more than I thought :o but additional stuff in this month so far ....... £2209! :j Made up of OH's overtime and a tax adjustment from last year (just paid this month), a stray £180 lurking in Betfair account from matched betting last summer, an unexpectedly high royalty payment (not JK Rowling sadly - just a text book I was involved with years ago - still pays out a bit - but this time was much more than normal - over 1K!! :T) and a bit of quidco money. So I am off the blocks on the challenge!

  • Hi everyone! I haven't posted much on here but have been keeping up with the thread. Well done to you all. I am still plodding along, at the moment not on target for the £20,000 but to look at it in a more positive way I have amazed myself by have much I have paid off. We only budget for £362 a month. I find it frustrating when we manage to earn some extra money and it ends up being spent on stuff other than debts but I suppose at least we are not getting into more debt!! Did a mystery shop today and completed my tax return a couple of days ago and am owed a couple of hundred so hopefully that can all be extra on the debts. Good luck everyone and keep smiling!

  • Morning! Well my tax refund is in so have kept aside £40 so DH and I can have a meal out for our anniversary at the weekend and put the rest on one of the credit cards.

Yes I figure every little counts last month I had a quidco payout of £2.30 and that was paid straight off of one of the cards! I suppose all the little bits start to add up over the year!

Today I have broken through the £3k barrier so almost a third of the way there! Going to list some large items on ebay in the next few weeks so I can bump the total up even more, it feels good now that I'm in control of the debts, we're not getting phonecalls anymore and it's such a buzz seeing the progress and knowing in another 3 months, most of the debt will be gone!

Well done everyone, we're doing fantastically, it seems like we're on a mission to put the DCA's out of business! :rotfl:
    Debt free in 2010
    £6551.35 paid so far.

This WILL be my debt free year! :T
