Just popped by to say HI !!!...no update today ..I thought it was the 27th today..what am I like?..hope you're all well...
  • That's a better short version! :D

    Thanks for another tip Kizzy.

I've got mainly games, dvds, and cds which I've found are better to sell on Amazon from past experience.

I'm thinking of going shopping tonight so I'll have a look through the reduced section then.
  • Good luck Shannys TD:D
Sorry don't want to sound like a know it all because, I certainly am not:rolleyes: , just a few things some of the clever people on here have suggested, that's all, I do take a list - I didn't stick to it on Monday & really overspent.
Also only £8,000 of my debt was paid off by hard work, the other £12,000 was from an ISA, I didn't realise I could stop paying into & cash in, so I'm not as smart as I look:rotfl: BUT, all the little bits really help, I must admit I've had some disgusting meals, & some great concoctions, that I can never reproduce! I hardle throw anything away, I try to make something out of it, even when a recipe just wants egg yolks, I make meringues from the whites! & I've never made them before, so I'm sure you can do things with a bit of practice.
If I can pass any info that someone on here has passed on to me to make someone elses life that much easier I will try, because, the people on here are just fantastic & without them I'd be so much worse off:A getting all emotional:p

  • You know more than me so your advice is very welcome kizzy.

Even without having that ISA, you've still done well to pay off £20000 in 15 months, so you should feel proud of yourself. You're almost there so be proud not so modest.:T

I'm going to carry on learning and adding to the knowledge I've already learnt on here and from making my own mistakes in the past. Thanks for passing some of that knowledge on to me.
  • Hello all, especially new challengers (not that I don't love the old challengers but it is always nice to see more people joining in)

I am just hanging out for payday so nothing to update, just posting to keep my hand in really and to try to keep me on the straight and narrow as much as possible as I have a potentially VERY expensive few weeks coming up and will need all the willpower I can lay my hands on.

[it's just we were starting to look a bit raggy around the edges:p] Kizzy

I know just what you mean Kizzy - have just been to Tesco to treat myself to some clothes as I felt that everything I was wearing was 'raggy'.

After much thought have decided to pay off debts in amount order not by interest rate - starting with the smallest first - hope this will help to keep me motivated.

Well have recieved £80 from Quidco and made £5 from Ebay - so a little bit more off the debts.

Myself and OH have just taken on an allotment so have been down there digging it over and making raised beds (from old pallets- very MSE  ) Hope to save a bit of money and get some 'free' excercise (both gave up the gym after LBM to save £60 a month)
  • I lied in my last post - it would seem that I have paid £3.50 more off of my Egg card than I thought so I have updated for that - EVERY little helps and all that

  • Good Morning Everyone :D

Well I'm so excited_party_   :T :j  the day I have been waiting for is finally here!!!

    I'M DEBT FREE !!!!!!!!!
Pay day today & the last £200 has come off my Lloyds card, I never in a million years thought I'd get here so soon, it was touch & go when I joined the stop faffing about challenge that I would even clear this by Xmas 08.

I've always felt a bit of a misfit, as was always in debt, whilst those around me seem to have everything & still be ok, finding this site & realising I was not the only one with problems, money & emotionally because of all the stress has been invaluable.
Thanks to everyone for the tips, help, support & the inspiration.
Good Luck to those still on thier Debt Free Journey, you WILL get there, it won't always be easy, but don't give up:T
